My self-summary
I'm a somewhat unconventional guy. It hasn't always been that way. A couple of years ago, circumstances in my life made me reflect on life. I came to the conclusion that when you're staying comfortable, it's hard to grow and to improve yourself. My mantra became "Get out of the comfort zone." Most people operate within their comfort zones, especially when they reach a certain point in their lives when they've achieved a measure of success. I think only when you get out of your comfort zone can you continue to grow and improve yourself.

I participate in sports and activities that are out of the ordinary. Windsurfing has been a long term passion and I've recently taken up kiteboarding, not exactly the sports one expects an older professional guy to do. I push my limits when I ski. Otherwise how can you get better? I guess that reflects on my young outlook on life. My friends tell me that I don't act my age.

Even so, I recently took up golf. I resisted it for years and years, thinking that it's an old man's game/sport. I found that golf is an addicting pastime. It has the classic intermittent reward/frustration that sucks one in. If one has the patience and the desire to always improve, it's hard to turn away from. I study it, always trying to improve myself.

Not only is it important to get out of the comfort zone with physical activity, it's also important to keep learning. I think that if you stop learning, you start to die, and I'm not ready or old enough for that. I moved to San Francisco and enrolled in law school and wow that, certainly stretched my mind and put me way out of my comfort zone!

Update 5/2014: Graduated from UC Hastings College of the Law!

Finally, being out of my comfort zone means that I'm here... and that I'm ready to find that woman with whom I can have that kind of relationship.

I hope you're out there somewhere!
What I’m doing with my life
I've gotten out of my comfort zone.

Regaining the physical fitness that I lost during law school.

I retired from a career in interventional cardiology and enrolled in law school. I graduated in May 2014 and now studying for the bar exam! Does it ever end???
I’m really good at
Learning new things, whether they be physical, sports or intellectual.

Self reflection and accepting change

I socialize well, but my greatest strength is that I listen.

My friends tell me that I'm a great friend.

Holding hands and discrete public displays of affection.

Kissing, hugging and cuddling.
The first things people usually notice about me
Hard to say, but I suspect that people first notice that I'm pretty quiet and reserved until they get to know me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a serious foodie, but generally I eat to live when I eat alone. I do love to cook, when it's with or for that special someone. When I go out, I like to have things that I don't make at home, from sushi to fried chicken, from cheesecake to spring rolls.

Movies... depends on the genre. Star Wars to LA Story, Tarentino to Spielberg.

Music: I don't really like acid rock, and heavy country, although country is fun to dance to. I even like rap and hip hop. Jazz is nice most of the time, and I have a weakness for oldies.

TV: Discovery channel, Food channel, Science.
Six things I could never do without
Flights of Fancy
Physical Fitness
Physical activity
Intellectual stimulation
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Since I'm in law school, the law. Duh!
More relationships
On a typical Friday night I am
Wow there is no typical Friday night for me anymore.

Wondering where you are...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think you'll have to meet me to find this out...
You should message me if
you want but don't NEED a caring guy in your life, if you like a combination of smarts and athleticism and don't mind if the guy has to study a whole bunch...

If you want a best friend who can also be your last LTR.
The two of us
