My self-summary
I am a(n):
- little piece of Minnesota nice in the Big Apple. Came here for medical school and fell in love with the city so much I decided to stay.

-avid athlete. Running is my favorite way to work out stress, but I love doing anything active

-mellowing tomboy. I love football (Go Pack!!), work with powertools and lifting heavy things (that is to say: people), and probably swear more than I should. No room for shrinking violets here.

- aspiring polyglot, currently working on 한국어 (according to my friend, I'm not white, just "Super Sayan Asian")
What I’m doing with my life
Mid-way through my orthopedic surgery residency. I play hard and, unfortunately, work harder.
I’m really good at
engaging on most subjects. I love to talk to people and learn something new.

What I'm really bad at: breaking the ice in the first place.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Shakespeare, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Jane Austen, Mari Kondo, David McCoullough, J.R.R. Tolkien, Alexandre Dumas, Harry Potter, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Terry Pratchett, historical fiction, and pretty much anything nonfiction in the New Yorker

Above & Beyond, AKMU, Audien, Big Bang, deadmau5, G-Dragon, GOT7, ilan Bluestone, Madeon, Myon & Shane54, Porter Robinson, Seven Lions, 2NE1, 2PM

Casablanca, Shakespeare in Love, The Princess Bride, Guardians of the Galaxy, Mononoke-hime, The Sound of Music, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Lord of the Rings, Finding Nemo, Kim Ki-duk, Mel Brooks

Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Band of Brothers, Broadchurch, Doctor Who, City Hunter, House of Cards, Aaron Sorkin, Ken Burns, Cardcaptor Sakura

Food: One of my favorite pastimes is sharing a meal and a bottle of wine. I'll try pretty much anything but favorites are: French, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese. Also trying to get better at cooking. I love making 깍두기 but it has the ability to smell up a tiny New York kitchen. If you have a secret to good 미역국, let me know!
Six things I could never do without
a good subwoofer, my passport, running, sunshine, tea, plants
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Operative indications (it's a work thing)

How to improve. Of late, I've been placing emphasis on mindfulness, and old-fashioned social graces like hand-written thank you notes.

All the non-medical books I want to read but don't have time to

Where I want to travel next
On a typical Friday night I am
Assuming I'm not on call? Singing at a noraebang in k-town, out dancing at an EDM show, or snuggling at home with my teddy bear and a good book or k-drama.
You should message me if
-you give good conversation
-you wrote comments in response to the standard okcupid questions; I enjoy a good session of banter
-you're an attractive Asian man

You should NOT message me if:
-you are only going to use one word/emoticon/emoji
-less than 50% match (we probably shouldn't)
-you're going to be butthurt if I don't respond
-couples looking for a third
