My self-summary
east coaster (have lived up and down it), a visual creative gal, part of my heart is in the south ( Charleston / Hilton Head/ Aiken) but nyc is ok for now) spent time in France at business school. Olivia Wilde makes me laugh and stoked about my Clemson tigers 🐾always. wishing I was at amanyara turks and caicos about now. ;-) 🍍🌞
What I’m doing with my life
I am in in a grad school program in Communications (have new respect for anyone with a masters or higher)! I work in marketing -growing my career. I belong to a fairly prestigious group for women here in the city that does a ton of awesome things for the community. I also help take care of my mom. hoping to adopt a new dog in the spring.
I’m really good at
Giving compliments, making people feel good about themselves. I am caring and giving. giving fashion / style advice to friends. Also - Interior design / style / design / that kind of stuff is up my alley so if you ask - I will advise! ;-) always good at sleeping! Being self deprecating (a self deprecating sense of humor is always a turn on for me! I laugh at myself a lot! ;-) I am good at massages too - been told have magic fingers (they are kinda long , not sure if that is a help or what );-)
The first things people usually notice about me
my style/ clothes , that i am a sweetheart, eyes, smile
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Words, any Audrey Hepburn movies (esp. Breakfast at Tiffany's and Sabrina), Chocolat (huge Juliette Binoche fan), Like Water for Chocolate, Rent, Chicago, When Harry Met Sally, most Wes Anderson (Royal Tenenbaums) and Woody Allen movies (Vicky Cristina Barcelona). italian, mexican, japanese, and French food, love Balthazar, August in the village for Brunch, Fig and Olive (chocolate soufflé) and Bull & Bear (I know it's been around forever at the Waldorf but the steaks, food and service are amazing!), Most music except country, (from Sting to Sade to the Stones..) Art books are my favorite kind of books -- fave artists Cy Twombly, Klimt, Rothko and alot of interior designers and architects ( have a good collection - also design / style/ fashion / interiors books) also love the New Yorker cartoons! I could live in museums too - ( yup one time when I was little Howard Cosell was at the museum , I think it was the Met - well nobody was looking at him, everyone was watching me because I was obsessed with writing everything down about every single painting!!)
Love most cultural events especially dance- ballet, modern dance / Paul Taylor. Alvin Ailey, broadway plays, films, foreign films, architecture, interior design and on and on.... Also love yoga, Pilates, and dance class at my gym (i try to gym it 3 times / week ) and tennis (but haven't played in a while). Like going to most sports events (no boxing or nascar though ha!) I love the beach 🐬and would still love to learn to surf or take real sailing lessons someday. I grew up in Annapolis MD so love that stuff. Some of my favorite places in the US are Newport, RI and Naples, FL.
The six things I could never do without
My dog, I phone, chocolate 🍫, my family, sunshine (the beach), shampoo, exercise!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I am going to get on The Sartorialist, what I am going to eat,
fantasies About Nacho Figueras (hey he is HOT STUFF - and if you look like him message me) and wishing I was Nigella Lawson's BFF so I could become the domestic goddess chef she is and meet all her friends etc etc (she is sexy!)...seriously though I think about how I can improve myself intellectually, professionally, culturally, physically, spiritually etc. also I think about how I can help my mom a lot (she is not in a wheelchair but has some severe disabilities). I also do what I can and think about how I can help the NYC community.
On a typical Friday night I am
recovering from the week -or these days doing homework (reading / writing/ researching)- so at home. Possibly local in the slope or usually low key, not a super loud club person, prefer an intimate cool sexy speakeasy type place like Raines Law Room with awesome drinks and some privacy. (I wish I had part ownership of that place, it is so up my alley!)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I collect socks - cute print socks- have Yorkies, apples, whales, anchors, ⚓️ palm trees 🌴and more- hey they're cute and fun and make the day not so blah... ;-) I think Jonathan Adler would approve!
You should message me if
you are smart, genuine and down to earth. You are sophisticated but not uptight. You are confident but humble. If you're one of those people who counts the number of countries you have visited and brags about it, we will probably not get along. Don't get me wrong - travel is awesome and sharing experiences is also - I guess there's a fine line if it comes off as bragging or looking down on people who haven't had opportunity to travel as much (both turnoffs). If one is wealthy do we put on our profile that we have seven houses, ten cars, six private club memberships, theee yachts / boats and two private planes? If you have all that great- just don't brag about it.
