I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities – if it's a nice day it’s fun to go on a good hike, a bicycle adventure or tossing a Frisbee on the beach; when there’s time, camping is always a good call. Recently, I discovered kayaking which is a wonderful opportunity to see this awesome place we call home from a completely different perspective! Well, if you're thinking, is this guy a sports addict, I can assure you I’m not. There's plenty of time for all kinds of wonderful urban adventures museums, galleries, movies and theater - especially summer Shakespeare in the park – L.A. has a lot to offer.
My interests are eclectic. Generally speaking, there is precious little that I won't see, read or listen to at least once. I’m passionate about cooking and, in particular, making bread; my next project will be to build a wood-fired clay oven! Over the last year I've found my way back to yoga - taking classes again reminds me, on a physical and spiritual level, of the ideal of "conscious attention" - a way to walk in the world that I try to travel - not always with success but something to strive for in every moment.
Other things I like to do?...Well, what jumps out are taking in a good movie, listening to music and always appreciating the quiet time to just read a good book or the Sunday paper in bed - it's always tough to find the space and place for this kind of quiet down time but it's restorative and good for the soul - there's something magical about sharing this kind of space with someone you're intimate with...kind of a shared, yet personal, experience...sort of delicious if you know what I mean.
As far as politics and values go, I lean to the left-hand side of the radio dial and if you get the humor of Monty Python, Kids in the Hall, Second City or old SNL episodes then you’ll kind of get me. As for my values, remember, I’m the kind of guy who says, “the glass is always half-full!” – I’m someone who will look to first see the positive in those that I care and love. Heck, I even believe that, with the help of a good and kind woman, I will learn how to properly dance one day!!
On a more intimate level, I’m a pretty simple man. For me, the company of friends and family is what feeds my soul. Speaking of feeding, nothing makes a more satisfying day than going on a hike, to the beach or some urban adventure followed by an evening cooking, enjoying an adult beverage, conversation and good times with the people I love. It generally doesn't get much better than that! Ok, maybe it does…how about a romantic walk in the moonlight, sensuous kisses, a loving massage and waking up late in a sweet dreamy state after a blissful night together…magic moments all.
So who am I looking for? Well, here's my wish list: She's a magic woman! She's someone who is, generally, a positive and fun-loving person. She is passionate about life, love, family and friends. She's the kind of woman who is available and able to be in a relationship; someone who has the capacity to give as well as receive love - she turns, happily, towards love; she's someone I can be silly with and who can make me smile yet someone who will share, listen and be there emotionally for life's more challenging moments.
That's a long list but hey, why not put it out into the universe - you never know who will show up. When it's all said and done, I'm looking for someone who, like me, seeks a relationship that will grow and blossom into something special. I'm looking for someone to share the journey - mine, hers and, ultimately, ours!
As for food, it could be as simple as a great loaf of bread with cheese and wine to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to a multi-course gourmet meal. I'm an omivore who loves to cook; my criteria for yummy enjoyment is that whatever the meal should be it is made with intention, kindness and love.
