My self-summary
I am the biggest dork you will ever meet, and I come fully armed with awful puns. I'm also a lifelong science geek. I've always loved talking science and I will gladly ramble about astronomy if you let me.

I also love being out in the woods whenever I get the chance. Camping and hiking are two of my favorite ways to spend the odd summer weekend.

This year I got to travel to France and England for work and decided I really want to get out and travel more in the future. I can't wait to go back to Bordeaux!

If you enjoy camping, hiking or travel, I'd love to meet someone who'd like to come along!
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a test engineer for an industrial battery company. Most days I get to work with my hands or work with something new and I love that. My first major project will be going up on a satellite this fall and I can't wait to see something I've worked so hard on up in orbit.

When I'm not at my desk, I like to spend my free time hiking, camping, playing RPGs or listening to music. Any other time, you'll probably find me wrapped up in a podcast or audiobook of some kind.

I just bought a house in Parkville and lately I've been spending a lot of time updating it and setting it up. Hopefully I'll be able to start actually living there in September.
I’m really good at
Tinkering, building things, and finding creative ways to jerry-rig anything.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm always bumping into things.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have music playing almost everywhere I go. A few favorites (in no particular order): Rainbow, Judas Priest, Johnny Cash, Queen, Daft Punk, Halestorm, Flogging Molly, B. B. King, Gorillaz, Darby O'Gill, The Kelly Bell Band, Doc Watson, The Avett Brothers, David Bowie, and Royksopp.

There's never been a Michael Crichton novel I didn't devour. Lately I've been working my way through the Discworld series, and have been particularly enjoying the exploits of the Night's Watch.

Previous read - For the Honor of the Queen (Honor Harrington Book 2)

Current Read - Pinkerton's Great Detective: The Amazing Life and Times of James McParland

I could list TV shows for ages, but Doctor Who, Firefly, Archer, Arrested Development, Sherlock, and Battlestar Galactica sum up my tastes fairly well. I will also watch documentaries on any of the most eclectic topics.

If it's funny or a western, I'll love it. Some of my all time favorites though are Duck Soup, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and Once Upon a Time in the West.

I'm also a big fan of podcasts, including The Bugle, Stuff You Missed In History Class, Dan Carlin's Hardcore History, and The Thrilling Adventure Hour.
The six things I could never do without
-Music. Lots of it!
-A kitchen (I enjoy throwing ingredients together and seeing if they work)
-My Hiking boots
-A constant influx of fascinating, yet ultimately useless trivia
-My favorite travel hammock
-Friends to go out and do unappologetically nerdy things with
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The Meaning of Life. Particularly, what it would take to get Eric Idle to pop out of my fridge and start singing The Galaxy Song.
On a typical Friday night I am
Having a weekly game night with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Going to a bar dressed as a pirate is a whole lot of fun. It's even better when ours is the only table with costumes.
You should message me if
-You feel more at home outside than in
-Your coat's kind of a brownish color
