My self-summary
Confessed music addict. I tend to buy way more albums than I can realistically listen to, and mix in some shows downtown. I'm always looking for another topic to learn about.

Staying active is important to me. I'll usually work out 3-4 times a week. Not a fitness nut or anything, but I don't want to be riding the Walmart scooter when I'm 50.
What I’m doing with my life
This past year, I've been putting a lot of work into getting my German fluent. Mostly there, but still need to fill out my figures of speech and vocab. Also started learning Spanish a few months ago, but very much in the "un poco" stage.

And post-election, reading wayyy too many articles trying to make sense of the country we live in.

On a day-to-day basis, working as a mechanical engineer at a tech company. It pays the bills, and gives me a good work/life balance.
I’m really good at
Quoting old Simpsons episodes, random facts and trivia, NBA Jam, Saying witty things, Mistakenly thinking I said something witty
The first things people usually notice about me
My very sarcastic sense of humor. (Usually toned down around people I don't know well). It tends to veer in odd directions.

If I'm being serious, there's a good chance I'm over explaining some cool (in my mind) history, science, or politics fact/theory. That's just the engineer in me taking over and there's no helping it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: I tend towards comedies (Big Lebowski, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Naked Gun, Hot Fuzz). For serious stuff I go for films on the dark side or with generous amounts of mindfuckery (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fargo, Dark City). And of course, The Princess Bride (since I can quote just about the entire movie)

Books: My kindle and I have a deep and abiding relationship. Please don't try and come between us. Some of my favorites are The Magic Mountain, The Master and Margarita, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Catch 22, Fathers and Sons (I'll stop here before this list gets absurdly long) Guilty pleasure: cheesy fantasy books.

Music: All the music. D'angelo, The National, Spoon, Outkast, Miles Davis, Sturgill Simpson, and many more

TV: Breaking Bad, 30 Rock, Mad Men, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, Archer, Die Heute Show (German version of the Daily Show)
Six things I could never do without

-Aggie football
-Scotch (neat and peaty as hell)
-New things to learn about
-Live music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How watching terrible TV shows actually becomes a good thing to do if you're learning a new language
