My self-summary
I'm extremely passionate about a few things, but I never take myself too seriously. I spend a lot of time writing and reading. I'm probably quiet right up until I'm not. I'm easily interested by difficult things.
What I’m doing with my life
Writing and reading. Drinking unimaginable amounts of coffee. Wearing sweaters. Bike rides. Whiskey sipping. Attempting to not overload an apartment with too many books. Walking Walking Walking.
I’m really good at
Making sense of things. Crosswords. Cooking as much as possible. Making coffee. Daydreaming. Making people laugh. Doing lots of things at once.
The first things people usually notice about me
Terribly bitter sarcasm. Highly expressive eyebrows.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Authors: Geoff Dyer, Helen Dewitt, Franzen, David Foster Wallace, Cormac McCarthy, Anthony Burgess, Knausgaard, Alexander Theroux. Lots of high-modernismisms. Eudora Welty is ridiculously under-appreciated as a very complex modernist.

Television: I've watched X-files all the way through and back again a few million times. Now right in the middle of twin peaks, I realise I've waited way too long. I have a weird love of a show called Kingdom that Stephen Fry starred in a decade ago. I also have a weird love for Stephen Fry. Seinfeld, of course.

Music: Silkworm, Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, Helios, Billie Holiday, John Coltrane, Purity Ring, Grimes, Stereolab, Eluvium, Mission of Burma, James Blake, Modest Mouse, Portishead, Joy Division, The xx, New Order. Kurt Vile

Movies: La Dolce Vita, Breathless, Annie Hall, Chinatown, The Master, most Bill Murray movies, A Single Man, Sideways. Terrance Malick-y things. Beetlejuice again and again.

Food: Almost everything. I cook things quite a lot, but I'm mostly good at Italian things. I make excellent Pasta Carbonara. I really love Indian food and really suck at making it.
Six things I could never do without
Books about other books, trees changing colors, Soup, walking, complexity, affection
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Anything that seems interesting, which is most things looked at long enough. Polyamory. Gender. Being conscious of the past and the historicity of things. Whatever I'm writing at any given time takes up a lot of my brain. Economic inequality grinds my inclinations towards extreme fairness.
On a typical Friday night I am
Maybe out. I like sitting on patios in the appropriate weather. I really like Seventh Son. I see a lot of movies, so maybe there, too.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think a lot about being a nomad. I like living in the new.
You should message me if
If something in the above bit has struck your interest. You're interested in whatever, friendship or otherwise. You're okay with Polyamory and my having a partner: yonina9 (She's rather lovely.) You like complex things and jazz and art and books and maybe want to read or watch or listen to something and talk. If you want to get coffee.

Also if you want to be pen pals, movie-buddies, book-group-formers, walking-adventurers, or things like that.

I have somewhat less free time at the moment since sometimes I make pizza in a ridiculous food truck.
