My self-summary
I am a 56 year old (wait!! when did that happen??) divorced female with no kids (that age number thingie looks REAL big right now!!!) I always wanted to have a family of two legged kids, but it never happened, instead I have the four-legged kind, two Siamese rescue kitties. I do love kids and have always known I will likely meet a guy who has grown kids and even some grand kids.

I work in the media (TV) on the technical side of things and can talk about a variety of topics, including current events in the news and I love lively engaging conversations. I am largely conservative in my political leanings, but often times find myself "middle of the road".

I like to do lots of different things, including movies, cooking, sewing, travel, camping, riding my bike on the Silver Comet trail. I have lost about 80 pounds (new!!) since my lap-band surgery and am always excited to look in the "regular" women's clothing sizes. I still have about 25 pounds to go---so I am not thin. More on the "fluffy" side!! :D Is that ok??

I often head back to the western states to see family and friends and miss the mountains, BUT not the winters out west. (they have certainly been clobbered snow-wise out there this winter--2017) I like Atlanta's mild weather and don't miss owning a snow shovel. (does Walmart even carry them here??) I have been to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks many times, and my folks own a cabin near the west entrance of Yellowstone. I was there in the summer of 2016 and loved 4 wheeling in the mountains.

I am kinda witty, fun, and I think a good listener. I love to people watch too!!---get to the airport to catch your flight early and sit and people-watch. Yeah, it's the simple things that entertain me. :D
What I’m doing with my life
I like to say that I am alone, but I am not lonely. I have been divorced since 2000 and it is time to find someone to spend time with. Life is all about sharing, the good times and the bad.

I don't mind being alone at my house, but doing things with someone would be sooo much nicer. I have been Geocaching, which makes being in the great outdoors fun, that is, if your GPS works well!! :D Don't know what it is?? There is a great website where you can plug in your zipcode and "caches" that other people have hidden are all around you ( It's a great way to explore little known places in Georgia!! It would be nice to find someone who likes to do things like this.

I want to Zipline (NEW!! and I did, July 1, in Vegas!!).......and I hear there is a line up near Lake Lanier that starts about 2 inches off the ground and graduates up from there. That's my speed. COUNT ME IN!!!---edited to add that the end of June 2017 I will be headed to Vegas and will be doing that laying down zipline on Fremont Street. Anyone done that??? What should I expect??
I’m really good at
I have been told that I make a person feel at ease and am easy to talk to, I really do like people!! I would like to think I can talk and listen about a variety of topics too, from cars to politics, to kids and pets to what's going on in the world.

Let's talk about why you voted for Obama two times!! LOL!!
The first things people usually notice about me
is that the comment I always get is "you are so easy to talk to"!! I like to be "approachable".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like autobiographies and non-fiction.

Ahhh!! Music!! I am varied in my interests. I mostly listen to WSB radio in the car and then alternative rock on "Octane" on XM satellite. When Atlanta got rid of their new rock stations I decided I was going to take my dollars elsewhere, so Sirius/XM it is. I often say that I have music tastes of a 25 year old. Disturbed, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Atreyu, Fuel, Tool, Alice in Chains are some of my faves. You have to be very young at heart to know who those bands are.

Foods are pretty varied.......

Mexican if it is not blazing spicy, pizza, steak places, Pollo Tropical (I dig that flame grilled chicken they have!!), Asian, and anything "buffet"......hey, don't hate!! everyone likes to graze at Golden Corral every so often.
Six things I could never do without
A few......

My Health
My Family
This Country and how blessed we are to live here!!
My 4 legged meezer (Siamese) cats--they bring such fun to my life!!
.......and hopefully YOU at some point!!!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the way this country and world are in such peril right now. I try not to dwell on it, but so many people are hurting these days. I have had to downsize from a job I loved after a layoff, but you have to pick yourself up, brush yourself off and go on. I hurt for the people who don't have any income. It's my hope that the nation turns around. I am largely conservative, however middle of the road on some issues.
On a typical Friday night I am
My days off right now are Sundays, Monday and Tuesday. I work 12 hr shifts the other days and so on a Friday night I am likely home, probably making my PBJ sammich for lunch the next day and getting into some sweats to get comfy. Sometimes on other nights I will go for a late night outing at Walmart. Yeah, I know.....pathetic!!! I like an occasional night out, but the bar scene got old a long time ago. We were all out there in our 20's, and I am no exception!!

I sometimes will go with friends to Johnny's Hideaway, or just to a friend's house party. I am generally home lately because I got flooded here in Austell in September 2009. The house still needs some work to recover. Slowly moving ahead.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
hmmm......will have to think on this one too. I think I am pretty much an open book. I don't understand why this question is here to tell you the truth. Most people say "if it is private why would I say anything here??"
You should message me if
..........YOU ARE REALLY READY TO DATE!!!! I know many guys here are skittish, maybe because of past experiences and they got burned in their marriages or past relationships. .

There are guys on here who are not emotionally ready for the dating scene. You shouldn't be on here if you still think you can work things out with your ex wife or ex-GF. Just please PLEASE be sure you are ready for the dating scene and being single. I realize that there are likely women on here as well who are not ready to leap out in the singles world either, and you likely have your own experiences on here where you have been burned.

Please do NOT be afraid to message me. I am not shy about firing off a nice little 1 or 2 line note telling you how I enjoyed reading your profile and how you were expressive and had a lot to say. It's refreshing to read a profile by a guy who can write and express himself well.
