My self-summary
I am a dreamer. I engage in a profession that is basically a dream and I often conjure up dreamscapes through plethora of conversation topics with willing victims. Whenever I can, I escape from reality into the cybernetic world or lose myself in stories, be it told in photographs, novels, anime, movies or games.
What I’m doing with my life
As a researcher in the local university, I often imagine myself as a wizard in an isolated ivory tower, trapping myself within the confines and comfort of a air-conditioned atelier, stirring ideas and data into a gigantic cauldron, while I slowly stir it with a giant mouse-like spatula, concocting a magical potion that would solve some of the questions that in life. Yes, I love my profession.
I’m really good at
Obsessing on abstract questions and ideas. My eyes immediately brighten up when it comes scientific topics, political ideas, medieval history, japanese culture or fictional world.

Procrastination aside, I'm an avid amateur photographer, who occasionally take on projects. I'm still learning though, and hope to one day translate my thoughts into every single frame I take.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not hard to miss in the crowd due to my large built, with a personality that is befitting of my physical disposition. I exude confidence when I speak, which unfortunately could be interpreted as arrogance at time.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favourite books - Silent Spring (by Rachel Carson); Kara no Kyoukai (or 空の境界 Garden of Sinners by Kinoko Nasu)

Favourite shows - Big Bang Theory; Nichijou (or 日常)

Favourite music - J-Rock/visual kei, especially music of Dir en Grey, and Siam Shade; fusion jazz groups like Bela Fleck and the Flecktones

Favourite food - mussels in a pot; barbecue wings and beef; sashimi
Six things I could never do without
Waking up to the sweet aroma of roasted arabica beans is the best way to start my day. While my daily commute take some time, they are never boring thanks to the ever-open portal to my close friends with my iPhone apps. And even on those slow days, I can always transport myself magically into the fictitious story realm with the ebooks I read from my iPad.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
This absurd world we live in
Success is measured by tangibles
Wealth, properties, family, symbols
Success of individual, not the community

This absurd world we live in
Conservatives triumphantly safeguard the minority
The minority of wealthy, minority of “leaders”
The minority that enslaves all senses

This absurd world we live in
Power hunger profiteers defend the sovereignty
Sovereignty of personal wealth
Sovereignty of capitalistic establishment

This absurd world we live in
Where men are paid more than women
Rich get more healthcare than the poor
And the powerful run scot free from profiteering the hapless

This absurd world we live in
Where change is scorn upon constantly
Like a red queen against flow of history
Running all the time just to keep still at the same spot of this revolving world

This absurd world we live in
Voices projecting from fist bound media
Drowning common sense, drowning rights of men
Drowning actual human advancements

This absurd world we live in
Where sensible words are dispelled as dirty
Treated with scorn and suspicion
Treated with fear or worse

This absurd world we live in
Fear runs rampant through the stone walls
Dulling our ability to judge, the ability to defend what’s right
Cowering in safe presumptions of self-preservation

This absurd world we live in
Where capitalism is considered righteous, communism evil
With modern slavery of controlled wages considered as a solution
And halfhearted limited welfare as luxury

This absurd world we live in
Everything is given a preconceived value
Price tags over our existence as rent
Price tags over culture, art, intelligence and wisdom

This absurd world we live in
Diversity is all abound
Yet the society insist on classless system
Putting ideas of harmony with no intention of resolving any differences

This absurd world we live in
Group think replaces dreams, price-tags over judgement
Yet like Sissyphus endlessly pushing his burden up the slope
We continue to keep this absurd world in place.
On a typical Friday night I am
Chilling out in front of my PC editing images, engaging in a marathon of Japanese drama or anime, reading light novels, facebook stalking or checking out the weekly vocaloid ranking on niconico video.
