I'm not quite sure how to best describe myself... I'm a smart, hardworking guy with a kind and good- hearted side. I am a great cook, I enjoy reading and working with my hands and have a decent collection of esoteric and weird crap like Pulp detective novels from the 60's. I used to live in Boston a few years ago and am looking forward to continuing to explore the city... I really just want to enjoy life to its fullest at this point and I'm looking for someone to go to art openings with. That and a decent coffee shop near my house.
I sort of half assedly still identify as an artist in spite of the fact that I haven't made any of my own in over a year... Work and other things tend to get in the way from time to time. I've got a background in sculpture and switched gears a while back to the arts admin side, the business of running artist in residency programs. Luckily I work at a University Art Center so I get my fix at work.
Sometimes INTP/ENTP, Gemini, for example at outdoor parties, somehow I'm almost always the person running the grill. I get to interact with everyone without having to be introduced and I have an activity so it doesn't look odd when I'm not talking to anyone.
Between work, work, and avoiding eye contact on the T, I've been exploring the city bit by bit. I've really gotten into my new job but it would be nice to hang out with people I don't work with every once in a while.
Now that it's summertime I'm riding my bike to work more and more and I want to find some time to explore the arboretum and the parks around Jamaica pond some more.
-Cooking pretty much anything
-Writing and editing, but not spelling
-Riding my bike...
Ok now I sound like I'm 5 so I'm going to stop.
I listen to a bunch of weird music, from 70's pre-post punk to Northern Soul, retro-futuristic french music from the 60's... I've been listening to "Vitamin C" by Can and "Obvious Child" by Paul Simon a lot recently, that and a band called Sylvan Esso. It's good I'm on a train and half awake going to work music. And there's this band Carpenter Brut that makes 80's synth pop that is amazing if you're in need of a great montage-edited break in your day
Food: I like a lot of stuff, I'm not that picky... as long as it's good. I have found some good indian food places, still looking for good vietnamese... Love soup dumplings, but never seem to make it into Chinatown anymore to get any. And I really want a good reuben right now.
Honestly it'd be cool to meet someone who would want to go to some openings, a gallery crawl, or just run around and end up at a decent place to eat.
I don't quite know where to go to have adventures or even get a good bite to eat, so if you're down with showing someone around, Hit me up.
