My self-summary
I like trying out new things - last year I went to a mystery room for the first time, did impro theater, and tried ultimate frisbee for some time.

I sometimes feel overwhelmed by how short our life is compared to all the things one can do.

Metal is my favourite music genre since my teens, and I still go to clubs like Final Destination with my friends when we find the time. Alternatively, we enjoy watching something new in the english theater or trying to wrap our heads around the rules of a new board game.

I like meditation. When stressed, it helps me put things into perspective, and when calm, its just some enjoyable leisure time. Meditating in small groups is one of the most potent experiences I had, and I like to share this kind of experience with others, if they are so inclined.

I also like visiting new places. I hadn't seen the north of Germany before last year, where I did couchsurfing in Kiel, Eckernförde and Hamburg.
What I’m doing with my life
I live in Frankfurt, and think it's awesome! I live in a shared appartment with some friends - both because it's easier to share all the boring house-keeping tasks, and because we can spend more of our free time with each other.

Work is an important part of my life: I'm in a small business consultancy that was founded just 6 years ago, and being able to contribute to its growth is intensely satisfying. We try to keep work and life balanced, though, so I usually have enough free time on my hands.

I'm politically interested and love discussions on politics, philosophy and economics. The pace of current developments is stunning, we're living in very interesting times indeed. Currently, I'm not actively participating in politics, but I ponder becoming more active in the SPD after finishing a time-intensive learning program I'm taking part in for the next two years.
I’m really good at
A good friend (see below) told me that I really excel at analytical problem-management and rational thinking.

Allegedly, I'm also sometimes funny.
The first things people usually notice about me
I asked a good friend about this. I know him for quite a while, so I can't be sure he remembers exactly what he first noticed. What he told me was: physically, I have a really distinctive chin. Concerning my behavior, he first noticed that I talk very deliberately, sometimes making breaks to find the most fitting word.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like reading fiction. It helps to alleviate stress. While non-fiction can have the same effect, I'm not always in the mood to digest something by Kahnemann directly after work. Among the fictional works I enjoy, there's a lot of science fiction and fantasy. I kind of hit the lucky pot - a very prolific writer (John McCrae) started out with a science fiction/superhero story and currently writes a biopunk story. He publishes two to three chapters per week, which is a nice pace, but can be difficult to keep up with if you miss a week - the chapters are loooong!

I'm not a big movie-goer, I prefer shows. The last movie I watched in cinema was Rogue One. I was perplexed at the ending, totally putting the WARS in Star Wars.

Shows are really time-intensive, especially as I share the bad habit of binge-watching with most of the internet. There aren't any shows I currently watch, as both Doctor Who and Game of Thrones are between seasons.

My taste in music hasn't changed a lot since I was a teen - I mainly listen to metal, with some pop, rock and other genres sprinkled in if the particular song happens to be something I enjoy.

Vegetarian food can be really good. My absolute favorite are Swabian noodles.
Six things I could never do without
- A healthy measure of fun with friends. I'm pretty success-oriented and sometimes need a reminder to relax
- My family. I have six elder siblings and loads of uncles and aunts. We're pretty close to each other, and I like being part of their lives.
- Skype. A lot of the people I'm close to live far away, and I want to stay connected.
- Work. Apparently, there are many people who don't like there jobs, so I'm very happy to have found something that appeals to me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a perfectionist, so sometimes I doubt myself more than what would be warranted.

Also, since it's kind of awkward bringing it up on a third or fourth date... I like being tied up and other stuff in the same vein. For more information on that topic, see my profile on FL (Aharon_S over there).
You should message me if
You care about sports, live near me and are looking for an activity partner. I'm open to trying out new sports and activities that I hadn't done before. Change keeps things interesting.

You like meditation and don't practice as much as you would like to.

You find my views on the political and philosophical questions interesting and want to discuss them.

You feel some or even all of the above are true for you, and are interested in getting to know all facets I can offer.
