My self-summary
I suppose I'm just your standard, bearded guy, with a cheerful attitude and an overly zealous love for beer. I like bar trivia, but I also like bars in general. I've been called a hipster, but I don't really know what that means; I'm friendly and really down-to-earth even though I frequently wear plaid, ride a 70s road bike, have a beard, andohmygodIjustrealizedI'mahipster.

Nonetheless, I also enjoy hiking, video games, parentheses, and long walks on the beach, especially drunk and at night when there's a better chance of seeing mermaids (it turns out he was just a homeless guy with an incredible singing voice, but we shared a beer with him and he was actually a really cool dude, even though he wasn't part fish).

I'm frequently exaggerating, infrequently serious, and always a fan of punctuation. (Because interrobangs are the shit‽)

My high school English teacher once told me I had an old soul, which is probably the best compliment I have ever received.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently: testing software, discovering new beer, and trying to learn the banjo.

I'm also trying to grow peppers, but whatever the opposite of a green thumb is, I have two of them. (What do they want from me, blood‽ Although I haven't tried that yet...)
I’m really good at
Things I'm good at:
-growing hair
-board games
-Pop culture references

Things I'm bad at:
-growing plants
-using glue
-banjo, but I'm working on it
The first things people usually notice about me
How much I look like Zach Galifianakis, but then on closer inspection, how much I don't.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is everything I could think of on short notice:

Books: Catch 22, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, ASoIaF, anything by Mark Twain, Ernest Hemingway, Kurt Vonnegut, Bill Bryson, or the science fiction greats: Bradbury, Asimov, Heinlein, etc.

Movies: The Iron Giant, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, For a Few Dollars More (the whole trilogy), Unforgiven, Brazil, Death at a Funeral (the English one), Boogie Nights, Pulp Fiction, the Kill Bills, Looper, Back to the Future (I'm a sucker for time travel movies), Garden State, Walk Hard, The Gods Must Be Crazy, Blazing Saddles, and everything done by the Coen Brothers (especially The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Art Thou, and No Country for Old Men), or Wes Anderson (especially The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic).

Shows: Community, Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Firefly, The Venture Bros., 30 Rock, Flight of the Conchords.

Music: Basically a lot of classic rock, a fair bit of folk rock, some indie rock, and a heaping portion of classical (Mendelssohn is my jam, but nothing beats Beethoven). But my music changes frequently.

Food: I love all of it. Except I don't like scrambled eggs. I make it a point to try scrambled eggs once a year or so, to make sure I still don't like them, but I haven't come around on it yet. Maybe next year.
The six things I could never do without
1. The Internet
2. Science. Yeah, Science!
3. Music, both listening and playing
4. A headlamp
5. Food, because then I'd be dead. Also, food is delicious.
6. Trees, because whenever I stay inside too long I get antsy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Daydreaming mostly, thinking about my future, thinking about my present, wondering what the world would be like if the other hominids weren't all extinct, the normal stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
1. Hanging out with my friends at a bar or someone's house
2. Staying home by myself to watch a movie/chill out and play video games
3. Something else entirely
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I occasionally sing along to Disney songs.

And not just the guy parts.
You should message me if saw something in here that piqued your interest and you'd like to get to know me better. Also, if you have any good beer suggestions. (I'm normally not into hoppy beers, but I've recently found some I really like, so I'm trying to expand my horizons.)

I also just realized I used the phrase "guy parts" in the previous section, and it's making me laugh more than it should.
