I know, I know, my primary residence is in the burbs right now. It is where my company is so it is a forced life thing at the moment. That being the case 95% of my social life is in the city and I intend to get a second place in the city later this year. If you are in the city fret not, I'll come to you ;)
I care less about the type of package someone comes in and more about the qualities underneath that define a person. My friends come in all kinds of flavors; jocks, nerds, techies, artsy, laid back, over fueled... So if you like to mix up your crowds, awesome. With my jocky suburban friends I'm the weird liberal artist in the room, with my city artist friends I'm the most corporate one in the room. I'm totally okay with this. I'd love to meet a mental doppelganger who has boobs and can crowd jump with me.
Some of my recent and past curiosities slash adventures...
2nd bike, Harley (Sorry, probably selling her!)
Visited Turkey & South Korea (Awesome)
The summer before that summer I took a 3 week sabbatical to a little island in the East Sound, WA.
The summer before that I tried my hand at car racing.
The one before that I volunteered for the Red Cross.
A few years before that I had some scuba diving adventures.
Lately I'm back to doing photography and really enjoying it.
Total film geek, I went to school for the arts, but now I have a robotics company, go figure... I tend to connect best with people who also like the arts as much as technical geekery and a good debate on the social implications of recent pop culture trends. Makes for fun conversations.
I have realized that my profile is incomplete due to the following missing items:
- no sky diving and/or bungee pic
- no Bean and/or Willis Tower Skydeck pic
- no mention of IPA
I'll work on it!
My most watched movies of all time? Probably these: Gattaca, Great Expectations, The Count of Monte Cristo, Dances with Wolves, Love Actually, Fight Club, Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans. Yes, I realize many of these aren't that original.
Recent Indies that I really liked: Shortbus, Secret Things, Strictly Sexual, YPF.
The West Wing was the greatest show on TV. Currently I'm into The Newsroom, Justified, Californication, Mad Men, Modern Family, Game of Thrones, Masters of Sex, House of Cards, and I'm always into the Daily Show. Jon Stewart is my hero.
Good friends and family of course
Grilled cheese sandwiches
Good movies on a huge TV
Really really dark bedrooms with lots of pillows and blankets
Learning something new that makes me feel like a kid and rediscovering the universe, yet again
- You have a crush on Jon Stewart
- You find it sexy when a man does typical manly things, but also when he's good at geeky things. Because that is sexy in reverse.
- Know the difference between a good debate and an argument
- You like to tell people about interesting stuff you've read
