My self-summary
Hi! I'm Alyssa and I'm 26. I moved to the Netherlands from the Caribbean and am currently living in Maastricht. I am a huge bookworm, I love classic satirical literature and I make sure I get my daily dose of it too. I love traveling, I like getting to know other places and other people. I don't mind if it's just another little town, I still like being somewhere with different things. I like documentaries. I could sit a whole day and watch only that. I like to expand what I already know.

I like guys that are intelligent. I am Sapiosexual.
Guys that have a sense of humor.
They have to have respect for their family, especially their mothers.
I like guys that are passionate about what they do.
And I guess that's it.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a full time business student. I feel that I've been unfairly pushed in the business sector, even though I like it, I would still love to do something in the field of science, psychology/philosophy or biology.
That being said, I am also a nature girl. I love camping, hiking and just the general outdoors.

When I was younger (around 9 years old) I was listening to Mary Jane's Last Dance by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers on the radio and I remember wanting to do just that, play music. I remember not eating at school just so I can save up money everyday to get my own instrument. One day I mustered up courage to ask my dad to take me to a music store. I thought my dad would find that silly and not take me seriously but he took me to one and even though I was 9, had no musical skill and barely a fraction of what the prices were, I walked out of there with a black Squier acoustic guitar (thanks to my dad for paying the difference though!) and have been playing ever since. I usually play to relax nowadays but music is still a daily motivation in my otherwise unbearably hectic life.
I’m really good at
Puzzles. NOT sudoku. I like a little brainteaser every once in a while. It's refreshing. I'm really good at playing and making music. Although recently not as much due to how much focus my study is requiring, I still enjoy it. I also am good at body language and face reading. People say it sometimes freak them out because it's as if I could read their minds. I'm also really good aaaaat, let's see, being observant and overly-analytical which in turn make me not so bad at videogames.
I'm also good at remembering names and birthdays. :)
The first things people usually notice about me
People usually notice either my eyes or my height when they first meet me. It's become so common for them to say something about it that it would kind of surprise me if they didn't. I am of below average height but people always picture me taller if they have never seen me in person before.

They also usually notice how open and social I am. I am by nature, very social and I don't mind shy people one bit.

They usually also notice that I am very well read and that I know a little about a lot of things. I can have conversations with anyone about topics they are really good in, I can talk to biochemistry students and then in that same time turn and talk to a business owner. I like being able to talk about different kinds of things with people from different backgrounds.

The six things I could never do without
Technology: I could not imagine my life without tv or smartphones. The world has gotten so accessible and not being able to do that would send me right back to the stone age.

Humor: I enjoy a good laugh and enjoy making people laugh. I can't imagine how dull life would be like if people didn't have a sense of humor.

Music/Books: I am passionate about music and who doesn't love a good goosebump-giving guitar solo? I also enjoy books way too much. Sometimes it feels like social suicide haha. People are not as excited as I am about books nowadays. I love books because it's like dreaming with my eyes open.

Family and friends: These people helped build me up to who I am now. If I didn't make it all these years without them, I don't think I could make it through the rest of my life.

Freedom: Sometimes I take it for granted. Sometimes I forget about how other people struggle their entire lives just to be free, some of them never succeeding. I watch the news at times and I think to myself, why do I have it so good? Why me? And sometimes it all seems surreal, it all seems movie-like. But I am thankful for what I have, I am thankful for what I don't have. And that's why I am actively participating in charities and volunteering because I feel like I was just too lucky.

Knowledge: I don't think I could live my life without knowing anything anymore. I don't think I could ever find bliss in ignorance.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My future and what I want to accomplish. When I was younger I used to envision a lot of things for myself and I am starting to realize that now is the time to start fulfilling them.

Aside from future, I think a lot about almost everything. I think Google is the most used app I have on my smartphone. I hate not knowing something. I have an interest in a few things that consume my time. I am dedicating time to Philosophy but focusing more on Metaphysics and Epistemology. I also am very interested in cosmology and astronomy. I always wanted to be an astronomer but even if I am now working on an entirely different career, who knows, maybe there's still time to achieve that. I also love cryptozoology, paleontology and almost everything paranormal. It keeps my mind busy.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with my friends, watching a good movie, reading an exciting book, playing videogames or trying to catch up on some sleep after the hectic week I just had. I like parties, sure, but that's not what I would call my "typical" Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am very clumsy. I thought at first it was purely coincidental but I just am. I bump into things, I slip, I trip, I let things (even myself) fall. But it doesn't happen TOO much. Although some days it seems to be just a little exaggerated.

I also enjoy childish things. I like cartoons. I enjoy watching some old, classic cartoons from time to time. I enjoy board games and toys. I like lego's and coloring books. I don't really care that I'm not at the age to do that anymore. Who said I can't? I enjoy it, it doesn't hurt anyone so, I don't see the problem :D
You should message me if
You have that slight itch to know more about me. If you enjoy the little things in life and enjoy making the best out of every opportunity, why not send me a message? Who knows, good things take time, great things happen all at once. :)
