My self-summary
I'm a sucker for funny: silly, slapstick, witty, Mitch Hedburg, I Love Lucy, America's Funniest Home Video's kind of funny.

The south carved out a place in my heart during undergrad at Winthrop University - it taught me about bluegrass, how much I love the woods, and how you have to know people sometimes in order to love them.

I'm interviewing for a partner in crime… ideal candidates will laugh a lot, possess a proficiency in outdoor play (white water boat ridin', skiing, hammocking, backpacking, etc); reverence for sleep (10 o'clock is bed time); ability to budget time and money (and communicate about what is important)… a desire for communication through challenges. and probably most importantly - want to be a true partner, to share a life together, to make decisions as a team, be a family, go to church and grow in faith together, and watch another human who you love grow into someone you love more. Attention to promise-keeping is a great asset; and really means just having foresight not to promise what you can't live up to, and communicating when you realize you're going to fall short. I'm going to fall short. I'm also going to push you - to be the best version of yourself. To chase dreams. To live your life out loud. I expect nothing less in return. :) Because we only get to do this once.

You are also going to love my Bowline dog.
What I’m doing with my life
my day job? I'm an elementary art teacher. We mix yellow and blue to make green in Kindergarten. We talk about how Art is Powerful. You can change the way spaces feel and what people are thinking without even talking to them.
I’m really good at
organizing things. remembering names: I have 662 students. making other people laugh with me.

cooking - cookies, white chicken chili, chicken pesto pasta with sun dried tomatoes, spaghetti with meatballs, taco salad, biscuits and eggs for breakfast...
The first things people usually notice about me
are my curly hair and my laugh. I'm the girl with the laugh.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
FOOD! COFFEE. If I have a craving it'll be for Chinese take out, hamburgers, chocolate ice cream with brownies. And wine. and Good beer. and Miller Lite at the ballpark. mmmm...... remember this potential dates: eating is important for Amy - bc I get grumpy when I'm hungry. snacks are good presents.

Quality music, especially live: symphony no. 1 by Camille Saint-Saëns, Ben Harper, James Taylor, Zac Brown Band, Johnny Cash, Miles Davis.

Books: Right now - Theodore Rex. I am in love with Theodore Roosevelt.

TV: Net-Flix. Nashville. Hell On Wheels. Parenthood. Downton Abby.

Movies: Romancing the Stone, Legends of the Fall, Fools Rush In, A League of Their Own, Indiana Jones are the kind I watch over and over.
Six things I could never do without
The River.
Music: country, bluegrass, oldies, blues, classic rock, zydeco, eighties…
If you don't have it, You don't need it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
when I'll make it to the River next. the next art adventure. dinner. and how to buy a house...
On a typical Friday night I am
at home. :) and loving how quiet it is there.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I secretly have this desire to stick my foot out and trip people, just to see what happens. 60% of the time I control it. 30% of the time I tell people that I want to trip them instead of doing it. 10% of the time i follow through. *These numbers are estimates.
You should message me if
you think park and play at Clear Creek in Golden is a good first date.
