My self-summary
I'm kind of a low-key person - I'll spend an evening reading a book or walking if the weather's nice enough. When given the opportunity though, I'm definitely down with dancing the night away or belting out Karaoke.

After getting a Masters in physics, I left my home state of Florida to try a new life in Madison. I love science, but the PhD route just wasn't for me...did get a few papers out of it though.

Really enjoy my job here, and Madison in general, so I plan to stick around for quite a while, and take advantage of everything Wisconsin has to offer.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I love history, and have read a massive amount of history books. That has lead me to an interest in historiography - why we study history, and what the purpose of it is. I'm very curious about how people from the past viewed the past (and how they viewed the future).

I have an active interest in theology, though I'm an atheist. I particularly enjoy Biblical studies: who wrote the Bible and why (a long list of people with very different - sometimes antagonistic - motivations). I like comparative analyses of the Gospels, and the subtly different ways they viewed Christ.

I used to read a lot of fiction, especially fantasy, but not so much anymore. I do read a lot of books on narrative structures, and the cognitive philosophies behind why we create stories the way we do.

In a pinch, I'll also read textbooks for fun - history, science, literature...every once in a while I'll pick up my old physics textbooks to brush up on my empirical and mathematical skills.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably reading or going on a hike or walk.
