My self-summary
A common friend who is trying to set us up would tell you that I am an affable adventurer, who is equally excited and comfortable exploring the Bay Area backroads in hiking boots, volunteering at soup kitchens in a holiday sweater, going to Michelin star restaurants in a little black dress (good thing the portions tend to be small in those places) and skinny dipping under a shy crescent moon...

I am eternally curious, often ironic, sometimes mischievous, but rarely cynical.

I aspire to become a more lyrical dancer, whimsical cook and, ultimately, an empathetic student of life. I want to travel the world and am always looking forward to visiting new places. Nonetheless, my most important destinations will always be persons rather than places.

About that guy I have a crush on:
Funny, sporty, vested in life, optimistic and compassionate.

If that's you, I am glad you are here.
What I’m doing with my life
Unprofessionally I spend quite a bit of time running, hiking, dancing, bribing my dogs, perfecting crust, learning how to use my smartphone.

Professionally (though also a lot of fun for me), I am always learning new ideas and trying to help bring to market the ones that could improve people's lives.
I’m really good at
botching jokes
The first things people usually notice about me
My quick smile. My familiarity - people often tell me I look like someone they know.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I still love bookstores. I toggle between fiction and nonfiction in a couple of languages. Recently read Tobias Wolff's Old School, A Sense of Ending, Language of Flowers, Cat's Table, Toast, Outlier and Steve Jobs Bio. Currently enjoying Guns, Germs, and Steel.

Movies: Gravity, Fruitvale Station, The Cup (young Tibetan monks following the World Cup) and The First Grader (Octogenarian Kenyan fighting to attend first grade). All Pixar films. I fear I have a taste for the quixotic.

Show: War Horses, Wicked. Esperanza Spalding is marvelous. Love the ballet, especially from the balcony. Measha Brueggergosman for at once breaking and mending my heart.

Food: My favorite meals are minimally or simply cooked to showcase the ingredients (sushi, burgers, mac & cheese). I particularly love legendary hole-in-a-wall places, where I imagine unyielding standards are quietly practiced daily by unsung masters. And watermelons could lure me into a eating contest.

Music: I grew up practicing classical music and listening to car radio. I love finding music everywhere. Higgs Boson is thoroughly charming sonified.
Six things I could never do without
• My love ones are safe and well
• An unfinished book and a spare
• Giggles / laughter
• Being outdoors -- deep in the woods, soaked in salt water, or under a boundless sky, wind on my face -- there is really nothing better.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Focus on being happy in the simplest way possible and bring joy to those around me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Cooking, dancing, laughing over a particularly painful incident over happy hours, dinner parties.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I never read Harry Potter. Makes me sheepish to claim I believe in magic.
You should message me if
You are just looking to be you, trying to find someone who shares your tempo.
