My self-summary
Ok, I've gotten a little more used to this online dating site thing. And here are 3 important things to help those who don't check very far down the question section.

1) I am an old-fashioned girl, and not in any hurry to change it. I want a relationship built on trust, respect, and good communication. These things are vastly more important to me than sex.
If you are looking for sex as the main part in the boyfriend & girlfriend relationship, I recommend you look elsewhere. We wouldn't be compatable.

2) I have never had a relationship before. I was in no hurry and wanted to be absolutely ready before starting to look.
And during High School, the guys my age were too immature. I'm hoping now that I have an older age range, I can find more mature men.

3) I prefer to be friends first. There is no pressure that way, and we can get to know each other in an easy, and comfortable way. If and when we both decide we really like the other, then the relationship can deepen.

If those three things haven't deterred you, please continue reading. And if you like what you read, please feel free to message. I look forward to chatting with those few who are undaunted by my straightforward nature.
I'm quiet and shy at first, but once I get to know someone I open up a lot. Once I get comfortable with someone for the first time, I tend to talk almost nonstop.

I'm a published author and work with horses for my day job. My dream is to be a world famous author and to have brought enjoyment to millions of young readers through my books.

I love anime and have a collection that would amaze (or terrify) you. And from there I have developed a love of Japan and am teaching myself the language so that I can one day visit it.

My anime collection is vast. I like to try all sorts of genres. Many I would watch again only with others. My favorites have such great stories and ideas I can watch them over and over. And some are so entertaining my friends even watch them with me again. Recently my friend found a boyfriend who has become a friend of mine(he likes anime, doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs, and can carry on a very interesting conversation without a single bad word. That's all it takes), and we will re-watch those with him.
I do not like the childish anime, but can use them as background noise when writing my books. I will NOT watch the ones with many F words. I can ignore the other bad words, but not that one.

As you may have figured out from that, I do not like swear words. The more bad words someone says, the less I respect them.
My Dad says: "People who can't talk without swearing, lack the intelligence to find a better word."
----And I like and agree with his statement. Pick up a dictionary.
I can tolerate the lesser bad words on occasion. But I do not say any myself. Nor can I be persuaded to swear.

I have recently joined a group of people that play Dungeons and Dragons and found out that I like it!

I enjoy outdoor activities with friends and family, but also enjoy staying indoors and playing games or watching a good movie.
I attempt games like halo, but all I can do is jump around like a demented kangaroo. My favorite games are those on the Nintendo systems. Fun, innovative, and not too hard. ;-)

I haven't really skied before, but might like it. I like snow, it's pretty, but I don't do so well in cold. So I prefer enjoying snow from a warm place with a warm drink.
I haven't had the opportunity to hike much, but when I have I really enjoyed it.
I am open to try new things, but am not an adrenaline junkie. Really dangerous things I have no interest in trying. But I'll try all other activities.

I haven't had the opportunity to travel much. But I really want to. I want to find that special someone whose idea of an awesome vacation is one that involves traveling out of state or on a cruise. And a good one is traveling in the states. There's so much to see. And I want to see it.

I am very patient, and don't like to rush into things that will impact the rest of my life. I'm very picky, but only because I want my relationships to last. Whether as friends or something more.

I went through childhood without any true friends. I thought I had friends. But realized upon high school that they were just using me. And once they had everything they wanted, they didn't want to talk to me anymore.
I made my first real friend as a senior in high school. It was anime that brought us together, otherwise we never would have taken the chance of talking to each other.
I now have four really good friends. And all of them are older than me. The shortest gap is one month and a day. The longest is thirty years. Quality over quantity.

In case anyone wonders, I rent a room at my mom's house which also happens to be at our stable. As barn manager I need to be on call in case of emergencies. Which has happened quite often with this many horses to care for. Sometimes we're too late to save the horse, but when we are in time, even if I'm up walking a horse until 2:00 in the morning, it's worth it.
As long as I am barn manager, I will continue to live on the property. Though I have my eye on the in-law quarters at the other end of our house. It's like its own separate apartment. But my mom has to kick her not-a-boyfriend-anymore-more-like-an-adopted-12yr-old-in-a-50yr-old-body out..... What would you call that?
Or, if our neighbor ever decides to move and sell the place, I'd love to move in there. Provided her house is safe. It wasn't built to code when they added to it. ;-)
--------so to summarize and simplify, yes, I live with my parent. But for a complicated reason. Draw your own conclusions.
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently the barn manager and head instructor at our horse back riding stable. I have one horse, but am responsible for training and exercising 13 of them.
In my free time I work on writing/editing/formatting/publishing my books. For now writing is a hobby. But my plan is to make it a career.
I also work on my Japanese a bit. Usually via watching anime. I learned Usagi is rabbit recently.
I’m really good at
Patience with kids to teach them at their own pace.
I can ride pretty well too. The horse will do as I ask, but I wouldn't win any medals for my form.
I am also fairly skilled at ending arguments. I am not skilled at arguing.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm shy, but confident in who I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
They seriously think they have enough room for this category?
Animorphs, Xanth, Mercedes lackey's Companion series, Warriors, Were World, Wheel Of Time series, Odd Thomas series, and more...
Avatar, Harry Potter series (minus the seventh), Twilight
TV shows....
Top Gear, Doctor Who, Love it or List it, Merlin, Animal cops Houston, Pit bulls and Parolees
Um...I don't have all night, so the ones I have watched five times and not gotten bored with...
KaleidoStar, Case Closed(& Metentai Conan), Darker Than Black, Fullmetal Panic, Tactics, E's Otherwise, and Twelve Kingdoms
Country and Anime songs
Sushi, Mexican, Togo's sandwiches, but I like to try all sorts of things.
Six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Plot lines for my books, or strategy's for the next session of D&D
Or who I am and how I can make myself better as a person.
On a typical Friday night I am
Currently hanging with friends watching anime ;-)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I talk to a strip of paper. No it doesn't answer back. Nor do I expect it to in case someone wonders.
You should message me if
You're curious, can have a conversation without swearing, don't smoke, and if you drink, its only occasionally, and not when you are depressed.
