My self-summary
Aliveness. Doing things now. Connecting with people while I try to help them. Working hard when I work. But also playing--in and outside the city. Walking, hiking, biking. The feeling of my body's power as I work my way up a mountain or take a long bike ride. The sense of peace that follows. A hot shower, wine, good dinner, and a huge soft bed. Lying in bed, talking or not talking.

Exploring new places. Revisiting places I love. Maine. Paris. The Alps. New Zealand. So many more.

The concretes: Blue eyes, blonde, slim and very fit, have a Ph.D., work hard & love it (no plans to retire but am taking more vacation than ever). Down to earth, I'm steady and even tempered. I'm often told I'm a good friend, good mom. Jewish & like being Jewish. Political--especially about social issues. Deeply distressed about the current political fiasco.

Looking for someone who's warm, kind, smart, ethical, and successful, someone who is alive in his life and wants someone who's alive in hers. Someone who still enjoys doing, moving, being. Can we connect around a shared sensibility and shared political/social values? Photos are all recent. And my age is accurate.
What I’m doing with my life
I teach, write, and treat. I work hard and love what I do. Am trying to expand too, so started playing the guitar (folk) recently (badly but I'm trying). Took singing lessons for a year (no good but I loved it). Spend time with friends and family. Whenever I can, I combine travel for work and pleasure. How wonderful it would be to do all that with someone special.
I’m really good at
finding joy
and...more, writing, doing my job, finding great restaurants, escaping the city, combining work and play.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm petite (5' 1")
fit and athletic
a tad shy till you get to know me
I'm smart but not arrogant
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Pretty much anything foreign, tilted toward French and away from scary. Not such a theatre person though willing to be convinced. Still have a crush on Pete Seeger, still stuck in the music of my adolescence--folk, soft rock, protest music. Love really good food of almost any kind, French at the top of that list.
Six things I could never do without
my kids
hiking boots & poles
French butter & bread (in that order)
a kindred spirit
a passport
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The political nightmare we're in
On a typical Friday night I am
enjoying a shabbat meal with friends or family
