My self-summary
I am quite animated and love to talk, although I find myself becoming a little more introverted as I get older. I love people and the way I show them is usually by teasing them. I love witty banter, sarcasm, intellectual conversations, pub chats with friends, trying new foods, and traveling. I don't consider myself super "girly" but I definitely have my moments. :) I can also be serious when the situation calls for it because I have had some darkness in my life. My experiences have made me pretty laid-back and extremely openminded, and I would prefer to be around people who are as well!

I am a very spiritual person, and feel a strong connection to the universe. I like many parts of many faiths, and have come to conclude that almost all of us are going after the same thing, but we just have different names for it. I am ever-changing and ever-growing in my spiritual beliefs, but I know without a doubt that there is a higher power in this universe and in my life. I respect all faiths and non-believers.

I am extremely passionate about human rights issues- women's rights, #blacklivesmatter and all rights concerning people of color, as well as LGTBQ rights. These issues have become a part of who I am as a human being. I am an activist, as much as I can be as an expat!
What I’m doing with my life
I am an opera singer-turned-English teacher-turned Human Rights Activist. I spent 3.5 yrs teaching the kiddos in China, and now I've moved to Ecuador to teach adults! I love my job because it allows me to travel and meet tons of amazing people from all over the world. I'm continuing to develop myself in the TEFL field because I love living the life of an expat!

Before moving to China, the past 11 years of my life were spent studying classical voice, theater, piano, and opera performance. Music will always be a part of my life, but I felt a calling to discover the parts of "Annie" that were outside of music. Thus, the journey began.....
I’m really good at
Singing. Talking. Playing the piano. Procrastinating. Being sarcastic.
Having philosophical discussions. Being honest. Loving.
The first things people usually notice about me
An old man once told me I could get anything I wanted with my smile. :)

Six things I could never do without
On the vitally important list:
God, a Higher Power, my spirituality...whatever you want to call it... Has to be the most important thing in my life, or everything else will go.

The reeeeeeally important list:
Singing & Music
Family (biological and not)
That one person who gets me
New experiences
The warmth of the sun
the sounds and sights of the Ocean
Beautiful, scenic views in nature
My health and athletic abilities

The surface list:
Espresso (from starbucks preferably)
My MacBook
a pub for food, a chat, and music :)
That song that fits my mood perfectly
My idealism
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Self-improvement and development- spiritually, mentally, physically.

Human rights issues- the struggle of marginalized groups- women, people of color, LGBTQIA.

What is the source of all energy and life- God?-Allah?-Shiva?-etc...., chakras, spirit animals and guides, spirituality, meditation, the universe and how infinitely huge it is, multiple realities, past lives, soul connections, why the pyramids are in exact alignment across the globe...

Where I'm going next...
On a typical Friday night I am
Grabbing dinner and staying in. I work on the weekends. :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a grateful recovering alcoholic, sober since 2008, and I have never been happier. I'm not opposed to someone having a different lifestyle than mine, but I'm not interested in hanging out with anyone who takes any drugs, or who makes getting drunk a priority. I know we are all at different phases of our journey, but I'm interested in moving forward in mine!

I liked watching the 2014 World Cup...(I've never enjoyed watching soccer in my life.)
You should message me if
You want to say something more than "hi". :-P

You believe in basic human rights that have nothing to do with religion, and you recognize that a lack of human rights is running rampant across the world right now.

You recognize your privilege.

You don't subscribe to any "Man of the house" bullshit.

You want a partner and companion, not a maid, cook, ego-boost, or baby-maker.

You're not afraid to get on a plane and travel the world!

You're not afraid to talk about important life stuff when it comes up.

You recognize that not every woman's vagina is connected to her heart.

You treat everyone around you with kindness, compassion, and humility- unless they deserve a verbal beating for being cruel to someone else- in which case, go for it!

You know how to really listen.

You understand that I mean what I say and say what I mean.

You don't try to exoticize me or secretly hope you will change me into the mold of your own culture.

You're not afraid to call me out on my shit...and you can take me calling you out on yours.

You're not going to tell me you love me after the first week.

You see the value of building a strong friendship with a potential romantic partner.

You're not afraid of anything I have just listed here. :)
