My self-summary
I realized I haven't updated this thing in at least 4 or 5 years. Lots can change in that amount of time, so, here we go. I'm your run of the mill single white guy with a full time job that I love, and a 2 bedroom apartment that I cohabitate with an obnoxiously adorable feline critter. People often tell me that I'm an "old soul", whatever that's supposed to mean. By my own accord, I haven't dated anyone for the past 9 years. The whole being single thing does have its upsides, however, I'm increasingly intrigued by the idea that maybe, just maybe, it might be nice to have someone with whom to share a few laughs, the occasional meal, adult beverage, and company in general. When I'm not working, I'm usually at home either reading, trying to will myself to get back into writing again, listening to my growing record collection, watching old movies, working on a jigsaw puzzle, or kicking around on the old information superhighway. I live about the most drama free existence one could imagine. Basically I'm just looking for someone fun, witty, and down to earth to get to know and take it from there.
What I’m doing with my life
They currently pay me to help manage a bookstore. Can you imagine?!? The very idea! I love the company I work for and I'm hoping to be running my own location in the next few years.
I’m really good at
Telling long jokes with agonizing groanworthy punchlines. Crossword puzzles, Memorizing useless trivia tidbits, grocery shopping (seriously, my couponing and deal finding acumen are off the charts!), mixing cocktails (I'm a reformed bartender) and a few other things that aren't immediately coming to mind right this instant.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm usually trying to not be noticed.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Literature: Sinclair Lewis, Kurt Vonnegut, Joseph Heller, Kafka,Hunter S. Thompson, Raymond Carver, I just started reading "The Dark Tower" and have enjoyed it thus far. Steinbeck, Don DeLillo. I like History books tremendously as well.

Movies: Coen Brothers, Anything with Humphrey Bogart, Donald Sutherland, Willem Dafoe. The Seventies are my favorite decade of cinema.

Tunes: Nick Cave, Ween, Frank Zappa, Faith No More, Tom Waits, Iron Maiden, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Stones, Classic Soul/R&B, R.E.M., Primus, Bee Gees, Isley Brothers, Alan Parsons Project, The Moody Blues, ABBA, I could go on and on.

I like food a lot, except for most seafood. Also, I have a well documented disdain for mayonnaise.
The six things I could never do without
Books, My record collection, my cat, laughter, sarcasm, friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the next miracle product. Various ways to describe things. American History.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually at work, closing up shop then heading home for a few cold ones and checking out whats on the Netflix and Internet. Lively weekending is not my specialty!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll pretty much admit anything. I have no shame or regrets in anything I do in life.
You should message me if
you find Bob's Burgers to be as much of a mantra for life as I do.
