My self-summary
When I started my graduate work at a small conservatory in Tuscany, on the first day I was asked to light a match and tell my life story before the fire burned my fingers. Since then I've wondered exactly what is important about our lives. What do you care to know about me? What do I really want you to know? Should I give a list of credentials--where I went to school, what positions I've held, what work I'm known for? Or do I strip all of that away and allow myself to be vulnerable, showing things that really matter to me--people I love, art that moves me, things I'm offended by, what I really want to do with my life? I don't suppose I have the answer yet.

I'll keep it simple and we can go from there, ay? I'm a graduate student interested in physical theatre. I've spent most of my life performing, but over the past two years or so have turned my interest to directing and choreography. Right now I teach, direct, choreograph and perform full-time and hope to continue after graduation.

I love language. I'm only fluent in English and Italian, but I've also professionally translated Spanish, French and Brazilian Portuguese. Communication is something I'm deeply passionate about and I hope to keep learning and growing in the field, both verbal and physical.

I'm a recovering introvert, only recently becoming comfortable in my social skin. I fall in love easily but take pride in my grasp of logic, constantly attempting a balance between passion and reason. Hence the username.

That might be enough for now. Let's see where this goes.

You should message me if you need someone to talk to, if you need a workout partner, if you love chai tea as much as I do, or just maybe if you found something you enjoyed above and think you'd like to get to know me better.
