Life has taught me a few things, but courage has been the constant that I've taken as my daily mantra. As I've gotten older, I've become more of a risk-taker, more ambitious, and I've enjoyed seeing things fall into place as a result.
One of the biggest life moments that changed me was the birth of my son. Having a hilarious little damn guy that looks just like me have given me a lot more direction and focus, and I don't even think I'll know how grateful I am to him for that.
People who meet me would probably say that I'm direct, opinionated, and honest, educated, but also with a passion for the arts, the sciences, and appreciation of epicurean rendezvous.
Being a 6'2 white male, I'm fully aware of the many advantages I have in this life, and I do what I can to change our patriarchal, inequal, earth destroying, animal abusing society to something better. It's a big job, but I do my part.
This past year I started a second company creating organic hand-made beauty and health products. I get to spend time wearing lab coats, making extracts and solutions, and playing mad scientist. It's kind of awesome (and living a childhood dream).
I still work in volunteering at various causes, usually as a legal observer (the folks who stare down police officers) and I sometimes host fund raisers at my house (singles events mostly) to raise funds for local causes and charities in need.
In my free time I work on articles on various social issues, researching anything that interests me, and preparing for the zombie invasion.
I like to keep fit. I run, hike, go dancing, cycling and do yoga. I don't go to gyms, don't see why I'd want to remove myself from nature.
I love to cook for myself, as I've previously mentioned. I'd love to cook for you, and have you try one of my newest creations. For example, I've got cardamon and cinnamon flavored hard cider brewing in my kitchen, and I'm getting ready to brew my first beers. (First one is a Hefewizen, then a Chocolate Ale, and probably something more creative afterwards).
In addition to a growing garden of my own, I also like to buy old furniture and restoring it back to new. Since I love color, I love putting new spins on old classic designs.
I also have a sense of humor ranking from juvinile to the perverse to the extremely witty (at least I like to think so). I have odd nicknames for parts of the anatomy and have created my own recipes that involves phrases like "OH SNAP".
There's a lot more, why not write me to find out?
MUSIC: While I love quirky, eclectic bands the Magnetic Fields, Stars, Broken Social Scene, and a lifelong love for the Beatles, I'm also giddy around acapella and musicals (everything from Dr. Horrible to hold school broadway)
SHOWS: I watch tv critically, so I find myself loving shows that feature strong female and ethnically diverse casts. So you'll find me watching shows like The Walking Dead. I love shows that showcase artistic skill, so I enjoy So You Think You Can Dance quite a bit. Most reality shows annoy me, but great shows with great writing can catch my eye, especially if there's superheroes, comedy, and well orchestrated drama.
FOOD: I'm a vegan, so I love good plant based places or places with a few vegan choices that aren't salads. I love to cook on my own, so be prepared to try my creations like Apple Pie and Cheese Waffles and Enchiladas a la Maya. I also make smoothes that are loved and feared by all who encounter them.
PLAYS: Love both classics like Shakespeare and Greek, but also love a good Neil Simon play as well
MUSICALS: oh dear God yes! Get me a black box theater with a few singers singing their heart out and I'll be a happy teary mess. Into the Woods, The Last Five Years, Godspell, Tell Me On A Sunday, I LOVE IT ALL.
My pets (1 dog and 3 cats)
Not sure what else. I can do without a LOT I've found out.
