I enjoy seeing how the world around me works and trying to change things for the better. I seem pretty serious most of the time and that sometimes seems to make people think I don't like them, that I don't have a sense of humor, or that I am anti-social. In reality, I take myself seriously, yes, but I do enjoy my life and the company of others. While I spend a lot of time listening, I like to share my opinions on a variety of topics or just have a good laugh.
I feel like I have a lot going for me in life. A good career, a house, and a car. But more importantly, a lot of friends and family that I car a lot about. I have a big heart and I love those who are close to me deeply. That can sometimes cause me a lot of heartache, but it's never going to change and I make no apologies for it.
I enjoy making new friends, hanging out, trying new restaurants (or going to old favorites), catching a movie, or just doing something like a game night or a bbq in the summer. I'm not picky when it comes to activities, either; it's nice to just be around one person or a small group.
If and when I am looking for more than friends, it is important to me that we have some common interests but also some that are separate. My ultimate goal is to share my life with someone, not merge into a single, indistinguishable entity. Oh, and before I forget: must love cuddling.
So, if I seem at all interesting, drop me a line.
Also, I bought a house in Ferndale in 2013. Needless to say, that keeps me busy, but not having to share a wall, ceiling, or floor with anyone else makes it worth it!
The rest of my spare time is devoted to an amazing community theater group that is based here in the Detroit area. I am on the board of directors, but they even convinced me to be in a show in 2015. It was a first for me, but it was amazing!
Oh, and I do a pretty good job at cooking and baking, if I do say so myself. I'm not a master chef by any means, but I'll never starve.
Movies - Lord of the Rings; Harry Potter; Star Trek; Star Wars; the Marvel movies (Avengers, etc.). I also have a soft spot for a good biopic like Lincoln and Milk.
Shows - Game of Thrones! Oh, and again with the Star Trek; any of the Stargate franchise (I own the full 10-season SG-1 set); Babylon 5; Glee; Doctor Who; The Walking Dead; Agents of SHIELD; Grace and Frankie; Orange is the New Black; House of Cards.
Music - Just about anything, but I'm not really into rap, heavy metal, or country. Sometimes there are exceptions to that. And, of course, I love Broadway!
Food - Italian; Mexican; or just a good burger.
My friends-I also love all my friends a lot. I've really got a great collection of friends, from those I've just recently met to those I went to high school with (or even earlier in a few cases).
My cat-I adopted her (and vice versa) in March 2013. She's quite a character.
My heart-not the literal, physical organ. The emotional, caring heart. It is a big part of what makes me, me. While life hasn't always been easy, I have always received a lot of love from many sources, and I will go out of my way to show that love to those I care about. In that sense, I wear my heart on my sleeve a bit, but I wouldn't be the same person if I didn't.
The Internet-hours of entertainment.
My water thermos-it keeps me from drinking other things I shouldn't.
