My self-summary
Here I am, a scruffy canoe maker! Currently I am only looking for friends, especially friends who want to tell me about their favorite places to play outside.

Are you an outdoorsy, positive, energetic, silly person, like me? If so, you should stop reading now, and send me a message... haha

I prefer to surround myself with generally happy people and people who aren't whining about being 'bored'... also, I prefer to use full sentences, or at least whole words, and you should too!

If you can't immediately determine from my profile that I am worth getting to know, well, that's your loss... hahaha

I am Bren... I rock the boat, however, I am seeking those who want to be on board despite that...

I am not a spectator...

I climb trees, I climb up and jump off of boulders, I leap from rock to rock and play 'the ground is lava' (usually with my kids)...

As my son says, "Every step outside is an adventure!"

I make canoes, seriously! "He's an eccentric artist... the slightly manic boat builder..."

I will make you smile, even if I have to push on your face with my fingers.

"If we both don't turn out to be worse than we seem, we ought to be friends." --L. Frank Baum in 'Sky Island'

I like to be outdoors, whether it is hiking up a mountain, trail running, bouldering, camping, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, swimming (in rivers/lakes/oceans/pools), climbing trees, casual tennis, badminton, or ping pong (or table tennis) with a friend, digging ridiculously deep holes in the sand and climbing in, sailing on a breezy Spring day. I like swinging on swings, sliding down slides, riding roller coasters, and more!

I hike 'long' and 'strenuous' trails, sometimes during 'inclement weather' conditions, but rarely do I think the trails are long enough, strenuous enough, or experiencing enough inclementness (I like running in the mud)...

I need a really good waterproof camera... Don't let me forget!

I like to hear the wind in the trees. I like to hear the river rushing over the rocks. I like to feel the sand/dirt/grass between my toes. I like to smell the wildflowers in a field, but my sense of smell is quite terrible...

We're all in this together, so I have a novel proposal- let's all just get along!
What I’m doing with my life
I make Kevlar composite canoes and I love my job!
I’m really good at
I like to draw. Most other people say I am good, but I am usually not satisfied with my work.

I'm not great at the advice, can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?
The first things people usually notice about me
I am tall and goofy.

Haven't you heard, goofy is the new handsome...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Anything about anthropology, archaeology, or ancient history/pre-history...

Six things I could never do without

Food - (I don't believe this section was intended for life's basic needs, but I really do love food!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
All the places I have not yet been...

The possibility of an abstract creative force...

"There is no fixed place in the cosmos. All of nature is in motion."
On a typical Friday night I am
-watching a movie or show on Netflix.

Ideal Friday nights:

-setting up a tent on a mountain and starting a campfire.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I play outside often.
You should message me if
...if you want to tell me your favorite places to play outside!

...we have something in common. think we would get along. think we would not get along, but you think you would enjoy not getting along with me. agree that we share a common ancestor with chimpanzees. do not agree that we share a common ancestor with chimpanzees. realize how close we all really are, considering the vastness of the universe. are a musician wanting to form a band in the genres of medieval folk comedy, folk, gypsy jazz, swing, lounge, rock, metal, industrial, or EBM and you need a singer/songwriter... Yep, I used to sing in a band, and I used to song-write, haha, and I kind of miss it, a lot. don't think that the presence of alcohol is a requirement to have fun. are looking for a friend to talk to about anything.
