My self-summary
I enjoy meeting new friends and hanging out with people who share my interests. Unfortunately most of my friends are either growing up and having children or are in relationships where their significant others don't allow them to go out but once a month. I work in an industry where I find very few people that share my interests....and if I do try to do anything with them it usually just becomes an awkward and/or boring networking event. My main objective is finding people who like 70's grindhouse movies, listen to loud music, enjoy playing board games while debating politics and art, and appreciate a fine barrel aged whiskey or a well-balanced Manhattan.
What I’m doing with my life
Wish I had an answer for this...
I’m really good at
If I knew this, I'd probably have been able to answer the previous question. I know lots of random trivia. I can name lots of bands. I'm probably the best steering wheel drummer ever. I can do Neal Peart's solo from Tom Sawyer while driving 75+ MPH on 580. I'm also pretty unbeatable at any version of Catan - Settlers, Seafarers, etc. And I throw a pretty decent right cross/left hook combo.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've got a big ass head. I come from a long line of Irishmen that have had big ass heads. I'm not joking when I say my great grandfather's nickname was Buckethead Paddy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Lately I've been reading mostly non-fiction and short stories. David Foster Wallace, Dan Chaon, George Saunders, John Jeremiah Sullivan, Wells Tower. I also love old school Steven King, Vonnegut, Fitzgerald, Hemingway and anything by a Bronte.

Movies: Can't go wrong with anything by Kubrick, David Lynch, Terry Gilliam, Scorsese, Nicolas Winding Refn, Tarnantino, and Wes Anderson. Horror is my favorite genre - Fulci, Argento, Cronenberg, Carpenter, Hitchcock - I love them all. Anything involving dismemberment and gore will never go unwatched. All time favorites - Taxi Driver, Bellflower, Pulp Fiction, Big Lebowski, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of the Devil, Rosemary's Baby, Bronson (while I have a soft spot for the actor and Death Wish III, I'm referring to the movie that came out about 5 years ago.) I'm also a sucker for documentaries...I'll watch any documentary on any subject.

TV: Venture Bros, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, The Wire, Mad Men, The Tim and Eric Show (Great Job), Check it Out with Dr. Steve Brule, Creepy KOFY Movie Time

Music: Everything. I mostly listen to styles with loud guitars and drums but listen to a little bit of everything I can find. Favorites: Rolling Stones, Outkast, QOTSA, NIN, Refused, Parliament/Funkadelic, Turbonegro, Tool, Johnny Cash, Metallica, Slayer, AC/DC, Uncle Tupelo, Charles Mingus, Fela Kuti.

Food: Everything. There's nothing I won't eat. And the spicier the better.
Six things I could never do without
My Dogs
Boxing gloves and a heavy bag
Broadband Internet
My Neflix and Spotify subscriptions and corresponding queues/playlists
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I'm doing with my life. And yet I still don't have an answer for that.
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching a shitty horror movie, drinking a glass of bourbon with my dogs laying next to me on the couch.
You should message me if
You're into any of the aforementioned interests.
Like drinking cocktails, watching good or bad movies and hanging out.
Like watching or playing sports. Especially basketball and boxing.
