My self-summary
I'm a pretty huge cinephile. Let's get that out of the way... Its been my biggest passion for quite a few years now. I'm an aspiring director/DP with a few local credits but am really trying to take another step forward in the next few years, and still trying to get myself to write more often for my screenplays. I miss the days when the history channel used to have actual history. I wish I could simultaneously live in a mountain cabin in Alaska/somewhere in Scandinavia, and in or around a big city. I've never bothered to take a comprehensive personality test, but it would be one of the introverted ones. Sometimes I may be a bit too quiet but around people I'm really comfortable with I'm very friendly and open.
I'm more of a gather some friends and hang out while playing a board game, watching a movie, or kicking ass at some video games person, rather than a pop some molly and go rage for hours guy, but sometimes getting out of the comfort zone is good times.
Im also a big sports fan, mostly Football and hockey. I'm begrudgingly finishing up a degree in Biochemistry. Not that it isn't interesting, but what I love isn't practical at the moment so my stupid left-brain is giving me some sort of backup plan.
Late fall/winter is my favorite time of year. It's so much easier to put warm clothes on and be comfortable, and I love snow. Give me a snowy day in the mountains over a sunny day at the beach any day of the week.
What I’m doing with my life
I play some Men's league Hockey with friends. Great workout and tons of fun. Also do krav maga 3 days a week and ju jitsu 1 day a week. Lots of fun as well. Exercising while learning a skill is so much more enjoyable to me than just running or going to the gym.

I watch a lot of films, all sorts of genre's. I try to pick out or save the ones I know my friends would actually enjoy.

Finding ways to get myself to write more often.
I’m really good at
-Analyzing stories/art/creative direction
-Relating to people even when I shouldnt be able to
- Skiing/snowboarding , and Ice-Skating (Im definitely a winter person)
-Giving advice
The first things people usually notice about me
Maybe My Height? That or the facial hair I guess.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A song of Ice and Fire plus the Dunk and Eggs tales, Dune, Crime and Punishment, The Master and Margarita, Lord of the Rings, Call of the Wild, War & Peace

Film: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. In The Mood For Love. The Thin Red Line. The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford. The Double Life of Veronique. In Bruges. Stalker/Andrey Rublev. The Lives of Others. The Godfather part I. Etc...
If you ask me to pick a favorite or make an ordered list you're in for a long conversation! I used to put a long list of favorites here, but in the fruitless effort to reduce clutter, here is a website I use to keep track of it all. If you actually want to look through it, just know that the order within lets say all the 5 star films isn't my own preference, just the order they were added.

Tv: Mad Men, The Wire, The Sopranos, Rome, True Detective, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Band of Brothers, Generation Kill, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, bojack horseman, the tatami galaxy, steins gate

Music: My musical fluency tends to take a back seat to my adoration of all things film. That said, I'm still a living breathing person so I do like music. I have found myself listening to nearly every genre at one point or another depending on mood. Currently I've been more on a stoner rock and downtempo kick. Some favorites at the moment include: The Sword, Colour haze, kailo, Buckethead, Bear vs Shark, Blockhead, Kalmah, Deathcab, Gifts from Enola, NMH, the microphones, plus plenty more.
The six things I could never do without
-My friends
-A pet of somekind (Ive owned cats all my life, but I swear some day I WILL own a husky)
-Sports, both watching and playing them (Im a huge football and hockey fan)
-A good story to be immersed in, whatever the medium
-A computer of some kind
-French fries
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Well I do hope to be a filmmaker, so I spend a lot of time creating stories. I have a few in my head I've been working on for quite some time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends in some capacity, or at home deep into some story whether it be a film, tv show, video game, or book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My family growing up was very emotionally distant, so film became my only real emotional outlet growing up as a teenager.
You should message me if
you want to talk about any of the stuff I mentioned above. If your a film buff, I'm always glad to talk about it! If we have something in common that we can share then by all means.

Oh and please say something more than "hey!" that lack of effort isn't likely to make me want to respond.
