I'm a pretty avid golfer, and am interested in financial markets, music, cinema, and a host of other things. I read books and collect (and actually play) vinyl records. I vend stuff on eBay. I love antiques and collectibles and use many vintage "found objects" in my wall-mounted assemblages. Oh, and fantasy football--yeah, I'm one of THOSE guys. I'm looking forward to catching a few spring training games when that starts.
I'm single, no kids, and would like to make some friends, and maybe meet a special one. It's been known to happen, even online. (That's the rumor, anyway.)
The nickname "Atticus" comes from having played Atticus Finch in a production of "To Kill a Mockingbird" a few years ago in community theater in California. With a couple of drinks in me, and if you ask nicely, I might be persuaded to do the lengthy courtroom scene closing argument...in best Gregory Peck imitation..at least as much as I can remember. I also tried stand up comedy at one time.
Now, THAT'S scary!
Anyway, that's it. Signing off, for now. But If any nice local women (a little kooky and eccentric is fine) want to show me around a bit well, I'd be much obliged. And I promise to behave myself. Unless, of course, there is undeniable chemistry, in which case... well...the truth is I'd probably still wait until the next date to make a move. I'm usually pretty worried about being perceived as a "predator," and I know the regret of getting carried away too soon.
Thanks for looking at my profile. All comments, observations, reflections and encouragement appreciated!
I'm a decent golfer. Once upon a time I was an 8 handicap. Now I'm a 20. I can still hit the ball a long way. Keeping it in play is my only problem. I need to play morre.
I've always liked Tom Wolfe, John Updike, George Plimpton, John Feinstein, good sports books.
Movies-Scorcese--Goodfellas, The Departed, Casino, Raging Bull, etc.
Almost all Coen Brothers...many, many others. Dramas, mostly, a good Romcom, or Judd Apatow-style edgy comedies.
Music-Currently listening to Radiohead, John Haitt, Bruce, Dylan, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Graham Parker, The Pogues, Richard Thompson, and oldies like Spirit, Love, Traffic, Zep, and of course, the four lads from Liverpool. If I could time travel and go back in time to see any concert, any time, I think I'd like to see the Beatles at the Cavern Club or in Hamburg....or maybe Buddy Holly?...nah...I'll go with Option #1.
family and friends
good, fresh food
sex (OK...I said it)
Apropos of nothing, here are 2 nursing school ideas for possible band names..."Exudate" (might be good for a folk or bluegrass duo) and "Valsalva Maneuver" (thinking heavy metal on this one?)
