My self-summary
My boyfriend gavanw and I are transhumanists (excited about the idea of using technology to enhance human bodies and minds) and DnD enthusiasts.

We live in a beautiful coliving house with techies and NASA engineers.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a product manager at a web security company. They taught me to hack when I first joined the company, and now I'm a product manager working with a delightful team of software engineers.

I've had a lovely year of festivals (Ephemerisle, Priceless, Freezing Woman) and went to Burning Man for the first time this year!
I’m really good at
Cooking! Recent favorites: beef, brocolli, and mushroom stir fry, chicken soup, and cobb salad.

I'm an aspiring rationalist, so I look for opportunities to be more precise in my thinking and deliberate in my actions.

If you're curious about what I mean by aspiring rationalist I'd suggest these for a bit of context: http://yudkowsky.net/rational/virtues, http://hpmor.com/ (HPMOR), and http://yudkowsky.net/rational/bayes
The first things people usually notice about me
People have occasionally mentioned lovely things about my confidence and willingness to speak my mind :-)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Seveneves, Superintelligence, Waking Up, Sex at Dawn, Selfish Gene, Time Enough for Love, Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, Name of the Wind, Rise of the Robots, The Nine, Alanna.

Dan Savage is my god (I'm an athiest, but outlandish claims are fun). He's a positive moral force and a reasonably reliable guide in times of romantic turmoil. He encourages people to pursue their sexual desires, live balance and health lives, and take care of each other.

Movies: Bend it Like Beckham, Brokeback Mountain, Keeping the Faith, Lord of the Rings, Milk, Shelter, Tipping the Velvet, Easy A, Avatar, The Kids are All Right, and Zombieland.

TV Shows: Man in the High Tower, House of Lies, Empire, House of Cards, Masters of Sex, Game of Thrones, Shameless (US), American Horror Story, and Girls. In the past I've also really enjoyed Spartacus, True Blood, Walking Dead, Six Feet Under, Modern Family, Dexter, Glee, Southland, the Shield, Kings, Big Love, Lost, Mad Men, Numb3rs, and The Wire.
The six things I could never do without
"Could never" is a strong phrase, so I'll go with "would prefer not to" in a bit of a cop out:

Family and friends, physical activity, deliciously dark tv shows, good food, high speed internet, and interesting work.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to be a better partner, friend, and family member to the important people in my life.

How to accomplish my goals and identify new goals worth pursuing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing DnD or out to the movies. Out for drinks, dinner, a show, or a concert. There's the occasional late work night or lazy Netflix night too.
You should message me if
You think we'd enjoy spending time together.

I am dating a delightful man right now, and we enjoy meeting new people :-)
