My self-summary
August 2014
Ladies, I have been diagnosed with cancer. Bummer. But I plan to give it a heck of a fight and survive. Only looking for casual dating and friendship for now.

I have been told by many ladies on this site that I am probably a sweet and nice guy but that they are not attracted to guys with long hair. OK, I accept that. But then its also fair to expect that you ladies will be as understanding if there is some aspect of your pics that affects me the same way right?

We all understand the "life is short" mantra but I am beginning to wonder if there are any ladies out there who are willing to compromise and maybe talk to guys who live more than 25 miles away? I think its pretty simple, you never know if you don't say hello.

I'm born in NYC but grew up in Australia. Love music, books and baseball. Want to know more, you know what to do.

I love this quotation.

"I might not be one's first choice, but I am a great choice. I may not be rich but I am valuable. I don't pretend to be someone I'm not, because I'm good at being me."

I prefer :
Bare feet to shoes and socks
Roller Coasters to Carnival rides (but you have to sit up front)
Real books to Kindle (I love to actually hold the book and turn each page)
Coffee or Mocha ice cream over chocolate
Dogs over cats
Classic rock and Blues over Country and rap
The Liberal left over the Conservative right

Quote from a friend. "So being a hippie is not a matter of dress, behavior, economic status, or social milieu. It is a philosophical approach to life that emphasizes freedom, peace, love and a respect for others and the earth. The way of the hippie never died. There have always been hippies from the first time society laid down rules, to Henry David Thoreau, to John Lennon, to you and me.

I am also passionate about baseball so I'll end here with 2 words.....Play ball
What I’m doing with my life
Discovered a career I never thought I would embark on, and love every minute of it.
I’m really good at
Finding my way from point A to point B. I have a very open personality and find it easy to talk to people
The first things people usually notice about me
My accent, then my hair. Then most people don't believe I am 60, because I don't look 60
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books by Kerouac, Clancy or John Irving
music from the 60's and 70's, Beatles, Elton John, Bob Seger
Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Great Escape
My favorite foods are Italian, Mexican or Chinese
NCIS and Homeland are my favorite shows but I also watch Monday Night Raw for comic relief
Six things I could never do without
1. Music
2. Books
3. Knowing my daughter is safe
4. Food
5. My dog
6. A loving partner ( but for now I am missing this item)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The phenomenon of when I see a profile of a lady that interests or attracts me, has a similar idea about not wanting to rush into anything, why is that almost every time, either just before we first meet or just after we first meet, I get the same line. "I've just started seeing someone and we want to see where it goes" or "you should know I am seeing someone else who I think may be a better long term match for me". So ladies, PLEASE, if you are in that kind of situation, please don't waste our time!! Please be in a situation where if we hit it off well, maybe we can explore the long term possibility together.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, because in my profession, Friday night is one of the most lucrative nights of the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I guess you will have to meet me to find out.
You should message me if
You truly accept people as they are. You love books and classic rock. You are comfortable with loud rock n roll. You are not looking for Mr. Perfect. You realize life is short and getting shorter with every day that passes.
