My self-summary
In the weird far away land of Rochester, NY, a child was born who would inevitably be terrible at surviving the harsh, harsh winter due to his general lack of body mass. However, by braving out the harsh winters indoors, he would find a passion for video games and geekery of all kinds, and would spend as much time thinking about making them as he would playing them. Now, as an "adult," he is developing the skills to make said video games and become more awesome.
Said young child was - surprise! - me! My name is Alex.

I am a super geek, and if you don't enjoy any of the geekeries you'll see in my profile, you oughtn't not message me, unless you are seeking to use me as your gateway into them.

I am a cuddly romantic type who generally creates that obnoxiously cute couple who says dumb things all the time. I can't really help it, it's just my nature.

Also, I have these pesky Christian morals and I tend to believe in that sort of thing. It gets in the way, but I prefer it that way.

On the Meyers-Briggs/Jungian test I tend to fluctuate between INTJ and INFJ.

Why am I on this site? Looking for the Kaylee to my Simon.

If you're not scared yet and you don't think I look like a creepy stalker from my profile picture, come on in and learn about what geekeries I enjoy!
What I’m doing with my life
I like playing games, making games, watching anime or other interesting television, and lots of geeky things. I was previously at the Rochester Institute of Technology for Game Design and Development. I'm currently on a break, but I will return eventually to finish the last semester of that degree.

I like to cosplay as well (which is making costumes of characters from tv, games, and books and such), even though I'm not very good at it.

I am an active player of Pathfinder (similar to D&D), I am currently planning a game that I will hopefully start GMing this summer.
I’m really good at
Video games, computers (I built mine), researching, general academia, that sort of stuff. And coming up with D&D/Pathfinder characters.

Someone told me I'm a great kisser. Does that count? It was only the one person.
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm a stick. Twig. Stringbean. Whatever.

Problem? Move on.

And I guess it's not the first thing people notice about me, but I've gotten a number of comments relating to my eyes and that they are cool looking? I have absolutely no clue. I think they change color, the bastards.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'll start by saying I'm an extremely picky eater. XD

Books? Obligatory Bible-reference for starters...Narnia, Inkheart, A Series of Unfortunate Events, His Dark Materials, A Wrinkle in Time (and the sequels), Lord of the Flies, HPMOR...I haven't read nearly enough since Junior High. XD

Expanding off of books, I really like graphic novels and manga. I don't actively read superhero comics, but Spider-Man is my favorite. I like some of the great single stories, like Batman: Killing Joke. Also, indie stuff like the Scott Pilgrim comics and other nifty things. In terms of manga, I don't like the popular stuff. Bokurano, Toto: The Wonderful Adventure, and Beet: The Vandel Buster are a few random ones. Not a big manga scene person.

TV? Mostly anime and old cartoons. The list is almost too long, but I'll try:
Bokurano, Cowboy Bebop, DIGIMON, Trigun, Escaflowne, Final Fantasy: Unlimited, Gurren Lagann, One Piece, Darker than Black, Ghost in the Shell, Batman: The Animated Series, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Samurai Jack, FREAKING POWER RANGERS, Futurama, Avatar: The Last Airbender and plenty of others.

In terms of NOT anime/cartoons? NCIS, House, Burn Notice, and several other USA Network originals. Also Chuck, Scrubs, Firefly, Dexter, Game of Thrones and others.

Movies? Ghibli and Miyazaki movies (anime), Akira, Steamboy, Summer Wars, and the Cowboy Bebop Movie are examples of good anime movies. Besides that? The Princess Bride, Serenity, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, the old Willy Wonka movie, Repo: The Genetic Opera, Inception, Memento, The Breakfast Club and probably 50 million that I can't think of at the moment.

I really like video games. There's way too many to list, but some of my tops are Zelda (especially A Link to the Past (favorite game ever) and Wind Waker), Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Earthbound/Mother 2 and Mother 3, Fallout, Super Smash Bros., Assassin's Creed, Mario (including Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars), Mega Man, Sonic, Final Fantasy (Specifically, starting with my favorites, VI, IX, IV, VII, V, III, II), Kingdom Hearts, Animal Crossing, Star Fox, inFamous, Legend of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Kirby, Borderlands, Dishonored, Skyrim, World of Warcraft and the whole Warcraft RTS series, and so, so many more.
I also play Tabletop games if I can! I like Pathfinder, I've dabbled in D&D 3.5.

Music? Umm...Weird stuff. I'll do genres for short if you want to skip the specifics:

Rock and Metal
Techno (House, Chiptunes, Electronica, A little Dubstep sometimes)
Some Classical now and again
J-Pop/J-Rock/K-Pop a little
Soundtrack-type stuff
Random assorted music and junk

My favorite band of all time is abingdon boys school, fronted by my favorite singer, T.M.Revolution. I also like other japanese artists, such as VAMPS, the pillows, JAM Project, and Home Made Kazoku. I like jazz, like The Seatbelts or The Rippingtons. I like a lot of metal and hard rock, like Shinedown or Dream Theater. I like techno, like deadmau5 or daft punk or Mystery Skulls, or even chiptunes like Anamanaguchi, Revengineers, or FantomenK, or Machinae Supremacy or Danimal Cannon. Game-based music is awesome, and I ADORE The Megas and Armcannon and Powerglove and tons of others, including The Protomen and Those Who Fight and a bajillion of everything.

I'm really quite open, just not to country or gangsta rap. XD
The six things I could never do without
1. Blanket
2. A song
3. Cuddles is a cute answer, right?
4. Something snacky
5. A D&D character (or, recently, campaign) to obsess over
6. A game/game idea
I spend a lot of time thinking about

Fine, more specific answers.

How to make myself happy. I've found that I truly am happier with a partner than without, so that led me to this website. I warn you, I will spend lots of time thinking about things, whether they be disagreements, arguments, opinions, etc. I have difficulty leaving things be, and I just love to think.

Also, about how sad it is that I have the genetic incapability of growing a real beard.
On a typical Friday night I am
Previously GMing a Pathfinder game set in an alternate timeline Zelda universe based on Wind Waker where Link never showed up and 2000 years had passed instead of 200.

I'm a massive geek, I know. But it was a great campaign, and my three players became the wielders of the Triforce. 'Twas fantastico.

Nowadays, we have a movie night with friends. We were previously trying to watch intellectually stimulating movies (just, movies that made you think), but we've deviated from that a bit now.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have exceedingly low confidence and depression problems. I go through most days lonely and distant, though you'd never know by the mask I put up. I try to be humorous and witty, and just come off as that weird kid who can make you laugh. When I can find someone who doesn't seem to want to change me, and wants me for who I am, whether I'm going to try to fix myself or not? That makes me happy and not lonely. And I guess that's what I'm looking for.

Sorry if that's too real for this website, but...It's how I feel.
You should message me if
You want to be the Kaylee to my Simon.

Or if you know who Proto Man is.

Or if you don't mind my Jigglypuff.

Or if you just want to talk about Power Rangers.

Lastly, if you think this horrible, inappropriate pickup line is funny:
"girl your body is a temple. but it’s the water temple from Zelda so once I’m in there I have no idea what to do"
