My self-summary
(UPDATED PROFILE: I haven't been on much since last year, so I revamped my page. If you've been here before, a lot's changed.)

Let's start things off with a few random facts about myself. I always look on the bright side of things, even through tough times. I'm afraid of earthquakes even though I've lived in California all my life. I enjoy making people laugh, especially through my creative writing. I am easily amused, never get angry, and value honesty very much. Welcome! Feel free to read on and message me if you feel so inclined. ^_^

There used to be an option on here to list the three words that best defined you. I miss that, so I'm listing them anyway:
I am positive, honest, and creative.
Also, my personality type is ISFJ, if that means anything to anybody.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated from Sonoma State University in 2011 with a B.A. in English, with a focus on Creative Writing. I currently work two part-time jobs while I search for one full-time job, preferably related to my major. In the meantime, I enjoy life as much as I can. I ride my bike often, as it is my primary mode of transportation. I don't drive, but lately I've been thinking about getting my license (there is a long story behind why I don't drive; ask me about it if you want). In my spare time, I hang out with friends or play video games and watch anime. I also enjoy writing silly short stories.
I’m really good at
Writing, singing, and bowling. I've also been told I'm a good listener.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am friendly and polite. I am also extremely patient and understanding of others. And people almost always assume I'm in my early 20's when I'm actually in my early 30's. I guess that's a good thing though, since I am at that point where every birthday is still fun but also a reminder that I'm getting old. Haha. I've also received more than a few compliments on my bright blue eyes, which always catches me off guard, in a good way of course. xD
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have a favorite of practically everything in the universe, but I'll try not to list every one of them here. This list used to be much longer, but I shortened it significantly to make it easier to read.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; The Earthsea Cycle; The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood; Bram Stoker's Dracula; The Hunger Games; The Prose Edda. I also enjoy reading manga.

The Butterfly Effect; Pan's Labyrinth; V for Vendetta; Bunraku; Coraline; the James Bond films.

Criminal Minds; Law and Order: SVU; Friends; Seinfeld; every Star Trek series, especially Voyager; White Collar; Castle; Modern Family; Warehouse 13; The Walking Dead; Gotham; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (The Original Series).

Azumanga Daioh; Lupid the Third; Ranma 1/2; Saikano; Nichijou; Di Gi Charat; Sword Art Online; Minami-ke; Gundam; Gurren Lagann; and many more.

Daft Punk; The Beach Boys; Gackt; Epik High; The Pillows; Röyksopp; Jamiroquai; Empire of the Sun; Earth Wind and Fire; Rhapsody of Fire; Spoon
I also love listening to video game soundtracks. I'm always surprised at how many good songs composers come up with for the many games out there. My current favorite is the soundtrack to Undertale. It's frequently on loop on my phone (listening to it right now in fact, :D).
My favorite genres are Jazz, Electronica, and Disco. I pretty much like everything, except for a few genres, but even some of those have songs I like. The only thing I would be absolutely against listening to would be constant screaming.

I love Andouille Sausage, Ham, and Sushi. I also love Muffins!

Video Games (Might as well include this on here): Chrono Trigger; Final Fantasy Tactics; Zelda; Guild Wars 2; Fallout 4; Borderlands 2; Galaga

I also really like vampires, zombies, and ninjas. :D
Six things I could never do without
Family: I couldn't imagine life without my family. They have helped me immensely through the rough patches in my life. I love them all so much.

Friends: They are the most important people in my life, aside from my family. Without my friends, I don't know where I'd be today.

Music: It's the universal language. It also helps me focus my thoughts. It helps my writing, as I type faster with music playing.

My Glasses: I'm not blind without them, but I pretty much wouldn't be able to do anything that required vision, except reading a book. Work would be nearly impossible. I have something like 20/400 vision...

Individuality: I love being my own person. I strive to be unique in every way. I am not a robot.

Anime: It's just too awesome!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lots of stuff. My friends and family and what's going on with them (I'm very interested in other peoples' lives). New ideas for my stories. Music (I'm always humming a tune if I'm by myself, :D). Whatever anime I'm currently watching. Recently, I've been thinking a lot about a blog I'm going be writing on a regular basis very soon. Still getting the first few posts ready.
On a typical Friday night I am
Trying not to get too distracted by all the distractions so I can get a good night's sleep for work Saturday morning. But on any given Friday night without very early work the next day, I'm usually playing video games or watching Netflix/Anime. Also, I've recently gotten back into reading on a regular basis.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a pretty open person. I don't have many secrets. Let's see...I'm not afraid to let emotional/depressing scenes in movies or TV shows affect me to the point of tears. Those scenes are meant to evoke a reaction in the viewer and I don't like to bottle in my emotions.
You should message me if like to laugh. like anime and/or video games. are a writer. like going bowling. enjoy the simple things in life.
...or if you just want someone to talk to. I am a good listener after all. ^_^
