My self-summary
I'm all about balance in life, and enjoy a little bit of everything. Being able to laugh and be silly is just as a important as being able to have a philosophical conversation. I'm looking for someone to share in adventures big and small. I'm not looking for someone to "complete" me; I just want a partner for the journey.

I care about honesty, even to the point of bluntness, trust and dedication are important, and a little teasing back and forth can be fun too...so long as both people are on the same page!

I own a wonderful kitten named Tango (you can see her in my photos), who would also love to meet you, as she enjoys making new friends. I honestly prefer dogs, but I like cats too and they can be easier to manage a life around.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a senior analyst in finance, good money and very stable, and it doesn't follow me home at night. It's what I do but not who I am.

I went to school in CA and grew up in Cleveland, but I've been here for ten years now, so I'm starting to think of it as home. Always more to explore, though; just found the Workhouse in Woodbridge last year.

Fitness is important to me, but I'm not a gym rat either. I did my first half-marathon in 2016.
I’m really good at
Making people smile, not just from flattery, but because I can really see the best parts of them and I like to share what I appreciate about people with them. I started a joke-of-the-day tradition at my office that people look forward to each day.

I did theater, and I can sing pretty well, but haven't done any performances lately. But I do sing along to the radio in the car sometimes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
(a) Harry Potter, the Ender's Game series (and Shadow side-series), the increasingly inaccurately-named Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy, The Hunger Games and its sequels. Recommend me something to read!

(b) Top 10 movies, in no particular order: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Zombieland, Pirates of the Caribbean (first one), The Matrix (first one), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Gladiator, Serenity, Galaxy Quest, Groundhog Day, Empire Strikes Back

(c) I don't watch a lot of tv, but I am a fan of Fox's animated Sunday shows and the CW superhero shows.

(d) A little bit of everything, though I'm not a huge fan of rap or country...but I've heard some good music from these too so I still give them a chance.

(e) I always like trying a whole lot of exotic cuisines, but at the end of the day I tend to come back to a nice steak as my favorite food.
Six things I could never do without
My car ("Kitty"), meaningful conversation, my friends, chocolate, internet, my adorable and affectionate cat.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A number of the questions I've skipped on here. Sometimes I have a more complex opinion than the answers allow and I'd rather not have *that* impact match percentages by picking something that doesn't really reflect how I feel. So hit me up with anything that seems missing that you're wondering about.
On a typical Friday night I am
Life would be boring if there was a typical Friday. It can be fun to go out on King St in Old Town with friends, but I prefer smaller get-togethers, checking out a concert in the area, or staying in, with the right person. And I'm always up for recommendations of things happening around here.
You should message me if
You're looking for good conversation, you want someone to explore the outdoors to check out festivals, you have some groaner jokes to share, or you just want to meet up and see where life takes us.
