My self-summary
I may look like your typical 36 year old male on the outside, but I'm far from it. I'm up front about my relationships status, which is polyamorous (if you're unsure of what that is, google is your friend). My partner is tabithamarie16 and we live together in downtown Vancouver. I also facilitate a local poly group, Vancouver Poly 101; we have monthly discussions as well as pub nights, it's always nice to get out to chat with like minded people.

I'm also a part of the local burner community in Vancouver, never been to the Big Burn (one day) but am active with Burn in the Forest, Vancouver regional BM event.

I like to travel; having been to Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and most of Europe, next on my list is probably SE Asia, somewhere I really want to go, but have yet to make it. Kicking around the idea of Vietnam and Burma next winter, so if you've been and have tips, pass em along!

I'm active, I play squash 3-5 times per week, flag football in the spring and and try to get in a boot camp class a couple of times per week. When the mood strikes me I still make it out on the basketball court, but that doesn't happen as often as it used to. I try to get the bouldering gym once in a while but probably not as much as I want to.

Some people may wonder, if I already have a partner why am I here? Well life is full of new experiences waiting to be discovered and shared together and who you do that with and how you do that can't be constrained by your typical relationship model.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for an real estate development company in downtown Vancouver and I seem to have an unhealthy love of numbers and spreadsheets.....don't ask me why, because I'm not sure even I know.

I facilitate a local poly discussion group and am currently on the board of the Vancouver burning man regional group. I spend a lot my time being a part of both of these amazing groups of people, it's incredibly rewarding to give back to communities you are passionate about.

I love interacting with people in a multitude of ways, whether that be facilitating discussions, a night out on the town, or having a good conversation over coffee, tea or some sort of adult beverage.
I’m really good at
Listening and being there for people....these were just the first things that came to mind; there's a part of me that's always been that caretaker personality. I've also been told I'm really good at reading people, hard for me to say I'm good at that myself, so I'll have to trust other people's opinions.
The first things people usually notice about me
My laugh. Whether it's in a movie theatre, outside, or in the pitch black of night, you'll know I'm just around the corner if there's a good story going on.

I also get the odd person who says that I look like NPH, which is always amusing, I've used that to my advantage and gone to costumes parties as both Dr Horrible and Doogie Howser MD!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Opening Up, Sex At Dawn, The Ethical Slut, , The Dark Tower series (re-reading now as they are bringing out a movie in 2017), anything by Malcolm Gladwell, Lord of the Rings and currently working through Clan of the Cave Bear series.

Movies: Once upon a time I worked at a video store, leading me to have probably 15 movies in my top 5, so here's a snippet: Fifth Element, Leon: The Professional, Reservoir Dogs, Devil's Advocate, Fight Club, Christopher Nolan Batman movies, Boondock Saints, Life as a House, Usual Suspects, the Game....this list could go on for a while...

TV shows: Anything Joss Whedon (Buffy, Firefly, Dollhouse, Dr Horrible) Dexter, The Wire, Friends, West Wing, Newsroom.

Music: I enjoy most music, don't really have a soft spot for country, but occasionally it's ok, although I will admit I'm terrible at recalling songs or the artists that write/perform them.
Food: I enjoy food made from fresh ingredients and almost always prefer a meal cooked at home than one cooked at a restaurant. I don't really have anything that I couldn't live without and will eat most things.

Sadly I've recently discovered that I'm allergic to gluten, dairy, eggs, soy beans, garlic, peanuts and almonds; so eating these past few months have been challenging, but rewarding. I find myself eating a lot of sushi, as it's pretty easy in a pinch.
The six things I could never do without
- The ability to make social connections - in whatever fashion that may take
- Taste buds (I saw this documentary where people had lost the ability to taste food, that would just suck)
- Contacts! Seeing is important and without them apparently I'm legally blind - one of these days I think I'll go and check out Lasik

Do we really have to do 6.....
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life.....mine and in general. I'm not necessarily philosophical and not trying to find life's meaning or anything, but I enjoy seeing and hearing people's reactions to different stimuli. I enjoy studying people - the differences amongst people in the world is one of the most interesting things about it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing something low-key. I'm not a crazy partier, but I enjoy hanging with friends at a bar having a few drinks to unwind from the week.

I will admit recently I've taken a much more pronounced liking to dancing and recently have closed down Celebrities dancing until they turned on the lights.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I will always support the music of Britney Spears....even though she lip syncs at her concerts.
You should message me if
If you enjoy sharing experiences with someone new and you're not looking to settle down with one person and have children.

While I live with my partner, there are many other ways a relationship can go, I don't believe in the purpose of a relationship being to end with marriage and children. Each relationship should be able to grow organically and also stop and plateau right where it fits between those 2 individuals.

So if you're willing to see where that may be, drop me a line.
