My self-summary
I'm Bret. I moved to MD about a year ago to work as a civil engineer. My career and staying healthy are 2 of my top priorities. On the weekends I love to go to places I haven't been before and learn about something I didn't previous know.

In terms of hobbies and interests, I think of myself as a political, historical & current news enthusiast although I'm certainly not in your face about it plus my view points are very moderate and reasonable. I'm fascinated by the way the world works and why people believe the things they do. I love to learn in general but especially about government, culture, and science.

If you can tolerate hearing about politics/ world events, you eat healthy and aren't super religious, you and I will get along fantastically!
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a civil design engineer in Columbia during the week with the goal of becoming a professional engineer (P.E). When I'm not working, I'm either at the gym or relaxing at home.
I’m really good at
Skiing, exercising, excel sheets, listening, political discussions, time management
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Romance, action, deep thinkers like Intersellar are my favorite genres. Forest Gump is my all time favorite. I love all the Marvel and DC movies. I love so many movies and documentaries it tough to list them all.

TV Shows: Game of Thrones, Cosmos, 24, Star Trek Series, Parks and Recreation, HIMYM, House, Dexter, The West Wing, Pawn Stars. Just to name a few. There are so many and I'm always looking for a new series to start.

Music: I like all kinds of music from the 1960s to today but I'm not very good at identifying it or discussing it. Beatles, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Lorde are all great.

Food: My diet consists mostly of meat, vegetables and dairy. I enjoy drinking bourbon or red wine socially. I'm gluten free not by choice. It took me a little bit of time to get used to it but I've got it down and it keeps me healthy. No one in life is gluten free and I manage it no problem; you wouldn't need to be either.
The six things I could never do without
Family
Friends
Having Goals
Quality Exercise
Healthy Food
Movies
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future for myself, this country, and our species; although related, 3 separate topics. I also think about the sustainable of the US policies regarding national debt; world events and politics in general as well.
On a typical Friday night I am
Most likely, recovering in my bed from a long week of work while watching a movie or documentary. If I get the opportunity to go out with friends I'll take it.
You should message me if
You enjoy to learn and are always trying to better yourself.
