My self-summary
I appreciate small absurdities in mundane contexts.
Like when subway conductors go rogue. Best so far: "Ladies and gentlemen, this train is now going express. All of you wearing headphones are f**ked."

I occasionally give away my midwestern past by smiling excessively, or striking up conversations with the checkout lady.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a freelance costume designer for theatres and operas all over the country. The hours are intense, but I love what I do, which is essentially the business of using peoples' clothes as a medium for telling stories.
The first things people usually notice about me
Wild curly reddish hair. Smile. Short.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Counting the days til new Black Mirror episodes premiere.
Also into Game of Thrones, Mad Men, American Horror Story, and other beautifully-designed things

Whatever I'm reading. Currently juggling some Shirley Jackson, Emma Donoghue and a biography of the 19th c. tattooed royal badass: the Empress Elizabeth of Austria.

Podcast addictions:
This American Life. Radiolab, 99% Invisible, Memory Palace, Lore.
Anything on NPR.
I once got into a Radiolab afterparty and had a really hard time keeping my cool because all my favorite public radio personalities were there.

semi-obscure 1960s-1980s, David Bowie and friends, Bacharach pop songs (not ironically).

I love weird old music videos, like these 80s gems:
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What makes people tick.
On a typical Friday night I am
My work doesn't have a regular schedule, so I might be painting designs, at a bar with friends, out at shows, or in with a good book.

Lucky me, they're all pretty fun.
You should message me if
you value empathy.

you've got something interesting to say.

you have your own interests, goals and ambitions. I am often busy with mine, but it's hot learning about new worlds through the eyes of someone who is passionate about them. I'll return the favor.
