My self-summary
Football player looking guy that is actually an RN, a cat dad, and a nerd weirdo. My likes include biking, Eastciders, burgers, gym time, swimming, Game Of Thrones, Drafthouse trips, and NPR. My dislikes include swing music, most people, putting beliefs over logic, The Utah Jazjz, and stuffed peppers. I was once flipped off by a drunken Paula Abdul. Come at me.
What I’m doing with my life
Half the week is eaten up by work, the rest is spent enjoying the city, staying active, and trying to keep up on all the TV/movies/books/albums/internets but also knowing I'll never manage to process it all.
I’m really good at
- Guessing heights based on OKCupid pictures.
- Listening and then talking until it sounds like I know what I'm doing.
- Making fun out of the mundane.
- Smuggling excessive amounts of snacks into movies.
- Psychoanalyzing myself. Sometimes Analrapizing myself.
- Having enough chill to share with the entire class.
The first things people usually notice about me
It's either - "Do you play football?" or "You look like Superman, do you know that?" - there's probably a lot worse to be hit with day after day after day.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I feel like Reddit counts as all of those things balled into one, so it gets special mention for consuming way too much of my down time.

TV, lately:
Orange Is The New Black, Top Gear (UK), Mad Men, Justified, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, etc. I am a great appreciator of good television. I love to be told a long and winding narrative.

Some favorite movies:
Breakfast Club, Dog Day Afternoon, Major League, Scott Pilgrim, Kill Bill, Old Boy, Drive, and many more. Movies seem like much more of an investment for me than a TV series, so I tend to watch them less.

I'm always listening to something different, which is unbearably cliche to say. Some days it's Frank Turner, some days it's Killer Mike, other days might be Torche or Santigold. That stuff is easier to work out in person. Let's be Rdio buddies.
I worked in music venues from ages 18-26, to the point where I have live concert ADD. Music is easier to talk about in person, anyways.

Not totally music, but still ear-centric, I do love a bunch of podcasts. Comedy, weird history/science, medicine, sex, etc.

I try hard to eat the right things, I swear. I enjoy juicing when I have the time, and I'm on a fascination kick about Soylent/100% Food presently. I am forever fat at heart, though, just without actually having any cholesterol-clogged arteries. Pizza, Mexican, and Chinese food will never be entirely out of my system, and I have a special love for Japanese street food like takoyaki and okonomiyaki.

Mainly comic books right now - Saga, Sex Criminals, Southern Bastards, Walking Dead, Manifest Destiny, The Private Eye, etc.

When not in comic form, I dig audiobooks. I'm working through "Modern Romance" by Aziz and "We Learn Nothing" by Tim Kreider at the moment.
The six things I could never do without
- A purpose
- A bike
- A gym
- A healthy sex life
- Mental stimulation from all angles
- My cats
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How the universe came to be, and the idea of existence coming from nothing. Can something really just always be? You can narrow everything down to the tiniest speck of matter - but where did that speck come from?

Awesome fantasy scenarios where I become wealthy and comfortable without doing any work.

Practical scenarios where I grind on my goals until they actually happen.

What life would be like if I acted in the complete opposite way of my natural self.

Also, if I'm pretty or not.
On a typical Friday night I am
Wondering what people are supposed to be doing on Friday nights and then awkardly trying to imitate my own answer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My ATM pin code is 8754.

My safe word is Tungsten.

One of those three things is actually true. We can trade secrets if we actually like one another.
You should message me if
You're smart, funny, fun, engaging, confident, and tough. I want a challenge. Someone that puts a boot up my ass and makes me want to be better than I am.

Weird is great. I love weird and up to 25% crazy. Over 25% crazy will be examined on a case by case basis.

I like to write. Great texters and emailers get preference.
