My self-summary
I am a polyamourous individual. I am a veteran, physicist, poet, gamer, and cyclist. I am always looking for new friends and open to new relationships, platonic, sexual and romantic, am interested in BDSM play (largely as a dominant) (and if you think Fifty Shades of Grey is a great book and would just loooove to find yourself on the receiving end of an abusive relationship like that depicted in it, please read THIS, rethink your position, and *then* you can talk with me about the fetish community), love to dance like a monkey, and constantly have my head stuck way too deeply in the clouds. I have a bit of a geeky and perverted sense of humour, play way too many games (of all sorts: board, rpg, strategy, and video), and own way too many books. I collect antique books as a hobby and always buy the books I read, which are usually science fiction, fantasy, or science non-fiction or historical non-fiction. Unfortunately all my books were destroyed in the fire, so I have to start over again. Anything concerning dragons will also readily catch my fancy - I had a small collection of dragon paraphernalia. I am also the caretaker of two kitties whom I love very much.

I grew up a military brat. Which means I don't really have a home town. The early third of my childhood was spent in 3 different American states, and the remainder was in three different German states. In my entire life, I have lived in 8 different American States and 3 different German States, and have visited 5 other American States, and 6 other countries. Needless to say, I've been around a bit. This also instills in me a feeling that relationships, people, things - everything is ephemeral, fleeting, transient. Nothing is permanent. So I will embrace friendships, relationships, what-have-you when I can, and enjoy them as they happen and exist. When they end, it is sad, but it is the way of things.

I am intelligent, silly, and intense
What I’m doing with my life
I tutor - currently I have students ranging from 3rd grade math through calculus, reading comprehension, German, and physics.

I write for and maintain a faerie tale website. It's grown beyond that and I now host a lot of poetry, literature reviews, and miscellaneous editorials on the site.

I also have three ebooks for sale on Barnes & Noble & Amazon - a book of faerie tales, one of poetry, and one on quantum physics. All accessible through my site.

Additionally, I make digital art, and sell it at my Etsy Store. Do drop by!

I also recently broke my clavicle and all the ribs on my right side - the ribs are all healed, and the clavicle is mostly healed. It's right at the joint, which is a location that notoriously heals verrrry sloooowwwly. It's amazing just how much this alters your world.
I’m really good at
Writing poetry, science fiction, and fantasy; fixing print devices, computer modeling of physical systems, games, running, biking, hiking, most things I put my mind to doing. I look really good in a skirt. Seriously. I brew a mean pot of coffee.

I refuse to take any intelligence test that uses improper spelling, grammar, or textspeak in its title. Clearly the author of such a test is not qualified.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm very intense. I also seem to have striking eyes. I am bluntly honest and tend to offend many people in California who are not accustomed to someone who refuses to play the political-correctness game.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything by Isaac Asimov, David Brin, Greg Bear, Fred Saberhagen, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Keith Laumer, Andre Pohl, Esther M Friesner, Arthur C Clarke, or the ilk.

Television: Stargate SG:1, Stargate: Atlantis, all Star Trek, Firefly, Babylon 5, Farscape, The Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, Futurama, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Nova, Dr Who, Star Trek: Everything, Jericho, The Walking Dead, Ash vs Evil Dead, Game of Thrones, Merlin, The Expanse, Mr Bean, Are You Being Served, All Creatures Great and Small.

Movies: The Matrix Trilogy, all Star Trek & Star Wars, Highlander (there can be only 1), Both Underworlds, Anything X-Men and Marvel, anything by Mel Brooks, the LotR trilogy, Hellboy, Ghost Rider (redundant since I mention Marvel), The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe (and anticipating production of the remainder of the Chronicles), Final Fantasy: Spirits Within, Final Fantasy VII, Excalibur, you get the gist - Sci-Fi and Fantasy mostly.

Music: Queen, Styx, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Apoptygma Bezerk, VNV Nation, Clan of Xymox, Tears for Fears, Delerium, Everything Goes Cold, Curve, Stromkern, See Colin Slash, Wolfsheim, Linkin Park, Will Smith, Digital Underground, NIN, The Cure, Rob Zombie, KFMDM/MDFMK, Hate Dept, Korn, Information Society, And One, Sopor Aeturnus, Qntal, and most other goth/industrial and new wave bands and most classical music.

Web Comics I am currently reading on a daily basis: Something Positive, Goblins!, The Devils Panties, Two Lumps, and Real Life Comics

Current gaming obsessions: ESO, Civ V. I played SWTOR, STO, and Neverwinter for a bit. Didn't care for the horrid latency issues they all sometimes suddenly develop. ESO doesn't have that, and the questing seems to have far more variety and a lot less grind.
Six things I could never do without
My computer(s). My kitties. Books. My fitness. Freedom. Coffee.

Having recently lost everything in a fire, this still seems pretty accurate. Though I did lose all my books, I am working on replacing them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Monkeys. Cows. Space. Magic. Quantum tunneling and quantum field mechanics. Games. Sex. Hawking radiation and quantum information exchange. Dragons. Spontaneous symmetry breaking.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either at a LARP playing make believe for the night, or trying to relax and recover from work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I refuse at this time to accept the invitation to a free month of the A-List as its construction and application smacks too much of elitism to me.
You should message me if
You think I'm interesting, speak and write reasonably decent English (if you email or message me in textspeak or some other horrible mangling of the English language, I will ignore you), and are interested in meeting in person (but only if you're close by - not too terribly interested in long distance relationships unless you're INCREDIBLY spiffy). It also helps if you're yummy and find me physically attractive. Especially if you want to have crazy monkey sex. Or just dance like a crazy monkey. Please note I don't drive, so, if that bothers you, then that's your problem.

If you didn't figure it out from my listing as "straight," I am not interested in anyone who might possess anything resembling a male appendage. While I have many queer and genderqueer friends, I myself have no attraction whatsoever to male genitalia, and, quite the opposite, in fact, find them quite repulsive and do not wish to have any near my happy bits or my face.

Also note that I rate every profile I visit. I use this as a filter to judge whether or not a girl is interested - the site will notify both of us if we mutually click on the like button (it used to be a number rating, but they changed that). I will not bother attempting to contact anyone otherwise, as it might just be a waste of our mutual time. So do please rate my profile when you visit, especially if you're interested. Also, if you rate me highly and I don't initiate contact, it could be because you're outside a reasonable range form me to travel, but you're welcome to contact me if you think I'm not outside the reasonable range for *you* to travel.
