My self-summary
I am 40, happily married, have no kids (and probably won't have any), have 2 cats and a dog, and have many tattoos.
The picture of me in the scarf is the most recent picture. In fact, the only one taken in this decade/year(2016). Why? I'm not on here for dates, I'm on here for friends! If you're going to write me, or something of substance in your message. One liners get deleted.
I'm a Libertarian, and I have strong views and moral opinions. I generally think mine are correct, and I am stubborn enough that if you disagree, I probably won't listen to you so you won't get a chance to change my mind. This is true with politics moreso than my moral views. I am slightly spiritual yet not religious, so don't think I feel the way I do out of some obligation to any specific higher power.
I pretty much hold myself to an impossibly high standard and when people don't reach that standard, I get disappointed.
I'm disappointed a lot.

I am clever, inquisitive, and critical.
What I’m doing with my life
Fumbling through my daily existance. Attempting to survive (I unfortunately succeed at this too often).
I take pictures. I'd love to call myself an amateur photographer but I am too critical of myself to say that.
I am an amateur historian, because you don't have to be good at that to say you are one.
I read. A lot.
I consider myself to be pretty good at ratiocination.
I travel (not enough), and I (usually) like planning the vacations my husband and I go on.
I write (occasionally).
I get tattoos.
I sleep. I'm very good at this.
I’m really good at
Self depracating
Analyzing myself (but never come up with answers)
Appearing confident
Planning (vacations)
Making both of my cats purr
Becoming (and staying) irritated
I'm learning to be good at photography and shooting (guns)
Making people laugh when I had no intention to do so, and when I ask "Why'd you laugh?" being told "You're just so funny!"

The first things people usually notice about me
If I'm wearing a sleeveless shirt, my tattoos.
If not, then maybe my flawless skin. I am blessed that in spite of having numerous other issues, I have never had acne.
Maybe sometimes my long(ish) ponytail.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Authors I like: Jonathan Kellerman, James Lee Burke, Jim Butcher, Robert Crais, Faye Kellerman, Neil Gaiman (met him three times now), Kelley Armstrong, Kim Harrison, John Sandford
Movies I like: Stand By Me, Tombstone, The Usual Suspects, Swingers, Fried Green Tomatoes, Deadpool, Twin Peaks:FWWM
Musical artists I like love: Glen Phillips, Lyle Lovett, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Nickel Creek, Mutual Admiration Society, country (Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Rascall Flatts, etc), older r.e.m.
Favorite food: American, and americanized ethnic food (chinese, italian, mexican)
TV shows I like, even though you didn't ask, and in no particular order: The X-Files, Twin Peaks, NYPD Blue, Bones, Lie To Me, NCIS, and more.
Other interests: criminology
I am mostly interested in the following events/times/people in US History, starting with: the births of Poe and Lincoln (both born in 1809), death of Poe (1849), The War Between The States (1861-1865), Lincoln assassination (1865), the shootout at the OK Corral (1881), Wyatt Earp (died in 1929) the Lindbergh kidnapping (1932) pretty much ending with the gangsters the FBI focused on during the early 30's (John Dillinger as public enemy number one until they killed him in 1934).
Six things I could never do without
My loved ones (my husband Tom, my mom & dad)
My friends (few and far between, thus - valued)
Music I like (as I most certainly can live without music I don't like)
Black & white frappes (and ice cream in general)
My senses (since 3 of my 6 things involve senses, that makes them seem pretty important)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Other people
Caring too much about what other people think of me
Wishing I didn't care what other people thought of me

(and why people on here don't really mean they're looking for friends, even if they say looking for friends, unless they only want friends who could lead to dating partners)
(and why do so many guys look at my profile...doesn't it say I'm married? I'm not opposed to having male friends, but I am not looking for anything else)
On a typical Friday night I am
Going out to dinner with Tom, mom and dad
Maybe getting dessert later on
If it's not raining or cold out, maybe go to a store
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a perfectionist, and I'm afraid of failure.
You should message me if
You want a kickass new friend (that'd be me).
You like to take pictures and can help me remember what I learned in the photography classes I took 10 years ago.
You like Poe, Lincoln, Wyatt Earp, John Dillinger, and can tell me something interesting about any of them.

You should *not* message me if you are any or all of the following:
Someone who only listen to rap/hip-hop, jazz, heavy metal, or you hate country music. We'll never survive car rides. (most important)
Socially liberal and will force your views on me
Looking at me for anything other than friendship
Pot smoker
Anyone who wants me to participate in any kind of "touching"
You smell
You enjoy driving with chinchillas or reptiles running loose throughout your vehicle
Cigar smoker
Any type of murderer, except serial

You probably shouldn't message me if you're any of the following, though I'll make more exceptions to this list than the list above:

A big headed gray space alien
An arsonist
A convicted felon
Completely remove all body hair on a more than weekly basis
A hippy
A serial killer
A pipe or cigarette smoker
The two of us
