My self-summary
Me? You wish to know about me? Well, it's quite simple; I'm trouble on a truly epic scale! ;)
Honestly though, there's a lot to take in.
The first thing to put out there is something I want to get out of the way and make very clear. I'm already in a long term, committed relationship with a beautiful, strong woman who I love dearly (and could probably kill me if I didn't wake up fast enough ;) . Feel free to check out her profile, Celticcrow77). I'm not looking to cheat. I'm not looking for something on the side. She and I have agreed to look into polyamory for several reasons. She and I both like women, and while the whole sexual thing is a big draw, we would both be uncomfortable with just having a fuck-buddy. We're looking for a woman who is mature, likes both women and men, and has a stimulating mind and personality to join us and expand our relationship. This is completely new territory to both of us, so the whole situation will be handled as openly and carefully as possible. If things work out, great. If not, it will come to an end immediately with as little drama and hurt as possible. We are not looking for an open relationship here. We would be offering ourselves faithfully, and will expect that in return. If this sounds interesting to you, then by all means, read on. If this idea doesn't interest you, offends you, or simply makes you want to call us nasty names, then feel free to look at someone else's profile. The only thing keeping you on this page is you.
Now that the serious stuff is out of the way, on to the fun stuff!
I'm a friendly, open person who is extremely loyal to my friends and family. I don't know as I'd go so far as to lie to the judge, but no one's asked me if I know where the bodies are yet. ;)
I have a somewhat eccentric sense of humor, as you can see, and I can laugh at just about anything given the right context. I can also be sarcastic when the mood strikes me, which is frequently.
I have a well-developed mind, and I'm not afraid to use it; I like to debate and discuss. Sometimes I'll argue both sides just for fun or shock value, so be prepared! Just ask my sister about my debate on the reality of truth.
I have a degree in History, and a minor in Medieval Studies. Medieval Europe is my favorite period to study, and I'm a member of a medieval Scottish reenactment group (Historic Highlanders, for those of you wondering).
I'm a geek. I'm not a nerd or a dork, I'm a geek. There's a difference, and it's an important one. If you're curious, check out "The Nerd? Geek? or Dork?" test.
I enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, computer games, console games, tabletop rpgs (both as a PC and as a GM), board games, card games, collecting medieval arms and armor, harassing my girlfriend, and making a general pest of myself.
Beyond that, I leave it to you, brave adventurer, to discover the rest. Good luck!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working full time while I pay off school loans. I'm considering a new career, but that's still up in the air.
I’m really good at
I try very hard to be competent at all the things that I do. My biggest talent would probably be listening. I take the time to listen to people when they have an issue, whether at work or in my personal life. It works best with people close to me because I can better gauge the best response for the situation. I got to use this a lot in college, since I spent three years as an RA.
My painting skills, at least on my canvas of choice (metal or plastic figurines of 25-35 mm scale), have definitely improved recently. I'd like to develop them further.
I've developed a real knack for cooking over the last couple years. I tend not to use recipes, either. I usually take something I know how to make, or think I know how to make, and adapt it to the purpose at hand.
The first things people usually notice about me
The hair. Almost always, it's the hair. It reaches the middle of my back when I let it down (I'm probably way overdue on a trim, honestly). In the right light, it has blonde and red highlights. I usually leave it down, except when I'm at work.
I get mistaken for a girl fairly regularly, at least when viewed from behind by guys. Women I've talked to don't understand why, but it happens. I've learned to take it in stride. Besides, there are few things more satisfying in life than seeing the look of horror on some guy's face when I turn around and answer his "Hey babe." with a "Yes, cupcake?"
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: My shelves groan with the number of books on them, but among my favorite authors are David Weber, David Eddings, Terry Pratchett, George R.R. Martin, J.R.R. Tolkien, Douglas Adams, R.A. Salvatore, and Brian Jacques. There are way too many to mention here...

Movies: I'll watch just about anything really. I prefer sci-fi, fantasy, and action/adventure, but I'll watch just about anything. Flipping briefly through my dvd binder I see Underworld, V for Vendetta, Memoirs of a Geisha, Arsenic and Old Lace (I'm a big Carey Grant fan), Braveheart, The Life of Brian, A Christmas Carol (George C. Scott), Excalibur, The Emperor's New Groove, Monty Python's Flying Circus, and Silent Hill. If I haven't watched a movie before, I'm usually open to at least trying it out.

Shows: I don't really watch much tv lately, but the shows I enjoy are varied. I enjoy A Game of Thrones, Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, Firefly, Stargate SG-1, The Walking Dead, Vikings, and I'll usually take a gander at anything I happen to run across that catches my eye. Most of the tv series I like are older and not on anymore. Farscape and Firefly are the most prominent ones that come to mind.

Music: I listen primarily to a mix of country, metal, and comedy. On any given day it's possible to find the following playing in my car: Disturbed, Eluveite, Miranda Lambert, Garth Brooks, NIN, Slipknot, and Led Zeppelin. But as long as it has a decent rhythm, I'll listen to it.

Food: As far as food goes, I'll try just about anything. I have a problem with certain textures, though. Don't bring me near whipped cream, cool whip, fluff, marshmallows, pudding, or flan. But let me anywhere near a bowl of mashed potatoes with either gravy or butter...stand back! I enjoy the usual American fare: pizza, burgers, hot dogs, etc. But I also enjoy trying new or unusual things.
The six things I could never do without
1. Air
2. Water
3. Food
4. Patience
5. My family
6. Sleep
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to better apply myself to the world.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working until about 6, then coming home and trying to relax before work the next day. I work saturdays.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm in a state of change right now, so I'm going to take down the funny answer that was here, and put up something a little more serious and informative.
I'm bipolar.
I'm not insane. I don't hallucinate or lose touch with reality. I'm on medications, but low dosages, and they have managed to keep me on an even keel. I've had some very hard times, but I've gotten through them, and the way ahead is very clear now.
I'm usually very open about this, and I have no problems answering questions. If you want to know something, ask.
...also, I have depressions on the top of my head where my sunglasses rest...weird, I know.
You should message me if
If you find me intriguing, attractive, witty, cute, or desirable. Also, if I've annoyed you, please let me know, I'd hate to miss out on your discomfort. :)
If you are seriously interested in a committed polyamorous relationship with my partner and myself.
Feel free to ask me questions. I'll answer just about anything. So don't be afraid, I don't bite...
...unless you want me to, that is. ;)
