My self-summary
I'm a deep thinker and a musical soul with a passion for Japanese designer clothes. I can be typically found floating around to the sound of music wondering about the fate of the universe (will it collapse on itself or keep expanding? mah...). I believe life in the end will turn out to be about the love and memories you have given and received and so I try to exchange a lot of both.
What I’m doing with my life
I came to Australia 10 years ago from Italy, where I was born a cute curly boy in a little village in the mountains (Imagine cows with black spots and fluffy clouds). Melbourne was love at first, second and third sight and since then I rarely moved from the top of the clifton hill overlooking Edinborough gardens, except for holidays or a work-related trip. I love that Melbourne is open-minded enough to give me the chance to feel free and be who I am and live how I really want to (surprisingly, Italy doesn't). I have a passion for math, science and physics and after finishing a PhD in 2009 (what a fkn drama) I am now working in a research facility developing ways to monitor planet Earth from space satellites and try to save the world (it's not as nerdy as it sounds, we do have chocolate muffins). In my spare time I go running and do a lot of physical activity because I like the feel of my body being healthy and well tuned. Beside that I play musical instruments, read books, gather random knowledge on wikypedia and enrich myself and others through interesting conversation. I have a passion for electronic music so I spend a lot of time on that too.
I’m really good at
Understanding subtle signs
Explain the theory of relativity of Einstein
buy very expensive Japanese designer clothes when really I had just left the house to buy some milk
Playing and singing "Blackbird" of the Beatles on the guitar
Dancing electronic music on the most elevated and visible spot in the club/venue/warehouse
Doing hand stands
Reading maps
The first things people usually notice about me
unfortunately, my very short attention spam (I'm working on it thou)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books: The Time Traveller's Wife, 100 years of Solitude, The Shining, Gerard's Game, Misery, The Stand, 2001 Space Odissey, The Lord of the Rings, In Cold Blood, books by Isabel Allende

I love watching movies over and over again. I dont have any interest whatsoever for movies about shooting, explosions and car chases. I love: visual movies of Gus Van Sant (Elephant, Paranoid Park, Jerry) pretty much anything Woody Allen (Deconstructing Harry and Manhattan at the top of the list). independent movies with subtitles and Swedish accent really turns me on (The Fucking Amal). I like movies about descent into heroin addiction and redemption (Christiane F us the kids of the Berlin Zoo, the basketball diaries), art-house sci-fi (2001 Space Odissey) and Romantic comedies with lovely girls and have a crash on Zohey Deschanel (500 days of summer). I like to explore those old classics that you always hear about and never actually see (recently saw Casablanca, The graduate, La Dolce Vita, La Strada of Fellini). Then random loose stuff: Being John Malkovich, Food Inc., Monsters, Thin Red Line.

Shows: I find television too noisy and an overall waste of time

Music: electronic music is my passion. I listen mostly to progressive house/techno/deep house/dub. that said, I'm a guitarist and appreciate a lot of acoustic stuff. I can play hundreds of song by heart, and Beatles is on top of my list. I'm in love with the Brit Pop period (Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Massive Attack, Stone Roses etc..) and Rock'n'Roll of the 60's-70's. Salsa just doesn't do it for me: I see dancing as an expression of individuality in which I free my soul in an unconstrained way. but who knows, one day that might change.

Food: spaghetti marinara cooked al dente italian style (with seafood) with savignoun blank
Six things I could never do without

My mum
General relativity and Quantum mechanics
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the whereabouts of
- my wallet

On a typical Friday night I am
enjoying my friday night
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I love to read women gossip magazines for breakfast (my housemate has a subscription), especially when the red carpet fashion jury demolishes celebrities
