My self-summary

I have recently moved to Kitchener after I graduated law school this year in order to start my new articling job. Articling is the last step before officially becoming a lawyer. I am excited to come to a new city and begin the career I have spent my entire life working toward.

In my free time, I generally prefer quieter activities, particularly reading. I read a mix of fiction and non fiction, touching many genres. Beyond that, I have many interests that I struggle to find time to devote to. I try to keep fit through moderate exercise. I love listening to podcasts, usually on politics or Catholicism. I love following baseball, and love the history of the sport. I enjoy playing board and card games, particularly with my family.

I am Catholic and my faith is the most important thing in my life. I try to remember Christ at all times and when making all life decisions.

I recently returned from a trip/pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Rome where I visited most of the holiest spots in Christianity, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and St. Peter's in Vatican City. And I got to see/hear Pope Francis!
What I’m doing with my life
I am just starting my articles. This is the last step in becoming a lawyer, and is similar to an apprenticeship or medical residency, in that it consists of doing many legal activities under the supervision of experienced lawyers. I am on track to be called to the bar and officially become a lawyer in June, 2018.

I am also a reservist in the Canadian Army, in artillery. I have been in the military now for 12 years, training all through my high school, undergrad and law school. I love my country and am proud to serve it. I aim to continue as a reservist alongside my legal career.
I’m really good at
I am a dedicated to the pursuit of education, I worked hard though my undergrad and through law school, and look forward to a new challenge, and an exciting career in law.

I also have a wide general knowledge, and a good knowledge of Greek and Roman history, as my BA is in Classics.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book: My favorite book is, of course, the Bible. My favorite fiction book series is Conn Iggulden's "Conqueror" series about Genghis Khan

Movies: I like Tarantino films, especially Kill Bill

Music: I don't often listen to music, but I like modern Christian Rock such as Skillet, or classic rock

Food: I have a rather traditional British palate, and like tea, crumpets, fish and chips and such, and also Italian food like pasta
Six things I could never do without
I tend to always have the following with me:

1. The Bible (RSV, Catholic Edition, Compact)
2. My rosary
3. My computer (a tablet/laptop hybrid)
4. My phone (without the GPS in this, I would be utterly lost)
5. Headphones (for listening to podcasts while I walk around)
6. My faith in Jesus Christ (not physical, but more real that most anything else)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Most of my time is spent thinking about my faith and my family. Beyond that, I like to think about my various interests when I get a chance.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually reading one of reading, playing a card game or just relaxing. When I'm not, it's typically because I'm working with the army.
