My self-summary
"Beauty fades, but funny is forever"

"It's better to be looked over than overlooked"
-May West

Thanks for looking me over.

I'm profoundly shy, but hide it pretty well. I always think of lots of things to say, about an hour after I've wandered away from the computer. I'm a night owl. I'm generally free during days, and would love somebody to hang out with.

I work. I go to the gym after, (it's nice to be the only one there, but cuts down on the opportunity to socialize). The rest of my time is generally unstructured, I explore town, work on my cooking skills (they are less than exemplary, but improving), read, hang out with friends, etc.

I'm pretty free and easy, and make for a good time in almost any setting.
What I’m doing with my life
I work. I work out (I'm trying to get rid of those pesky pounds that have accumulated in college and my forced stillness at work. I read, stream Netflix, wander around town in my spare time (on foot, occasionally via bike, care to join me?). I'm generally enjoying having a predictable schedule and lots of spare time.
I’m really good at
Driving (my profession at the moment). Bad jokes. Good jokes (a distant 2nd to the bad jokes). Tuba playing. Rolling with it. Admitting I don't know, and learning something new.
The first things people usually notice about me
Laugh. Smile. Viking like appearance. It's been said there is a more than passing resemblance between me and the dude.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
At the moment favorites are...

Books: Snow Crash (Neal Stephenson), The Elephant Vanishes (Haruki Murikami), The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul (Douglas Adams), Tortilla Flat (Steinbeck), lots more.

Movies: Time Bandits, Blues Brothers, Ferris Buellers Day Off, Lock Stock and 2 Smokin' Barrels, Star Wars (Original Trilogy, the others are fun too though, and I'm no purist).

Shows: I'm watching Kingdom, Boondocks, Better Off Ted, and Ted Talks right now. I don't actually have TV, just stream Netflix.

Music: Classical, Pop, some jazz. I can listen to pretty much anything, but I'm not real wild about newer country, the or teen pop (lmfao etc). I listen to The Police, Talking Heads, Bill Frizzell, Stone Roses, Eels, Soul Coughing, Cake, Jim Noir and lots more.

Podcasts: Many and varied, but most of the ones I see everybody apparently listens to, I feel as though I should be taking notes when I read through some of the other profiles, lots of them sound good and I've never heard of them.

Food: Yup. Favorite kinds are ethiopian (although I haven't found a place here in Portland that I'm real thrilled with yet) Thai (more good Thai places here than you could shake a stick at) Indian, sushi, and anything else that's good.
Six things I could never do without
More than a few days without a shower (it turns out I'm allergic to myself). Sarcasm. Sleep. Good books. Somebody to talk to. Music.
I spend a lot of time thinking about

And especially while on here-why are there so many dudes showing up in my feed of what are supposed to be women. Are these exceptions that ok Cupid thinks are ok, or just guys that can't be bothered (read something entirely un-p.c here) and show up as a woman, in my feed? Just sayin'.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, Saturday as well.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a bit more high strung than I appear, but still largely mellow.
You should message me if
The mood strikes.
If the moon is in the 2nd house.
If you've taken the long way home.
If you like pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain (it is Portland after all).
You can get a good laugh out of a bad joke.
