My self-summary
I'm interested in friends, romance, an awesome conversation or anything in between.

Sooo.. What am I doing with my life? Saving the universe one brain at a time.

I'm a filmmaker/sculptor/mad scientist bent on ruling... uhh... "saving" the world for my own evil... uhhh... "caring" purposes. MwaHaHaHaHaaaaaa... I mean "TeeHeeHeeHee".

I normally do feature films, that make you think and feel, but I occasionally do stuff just for fun. Here's a comedy zombie short (15 minutes)http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gem5brM3Oxo
What I’m doing with my life
For a living, I'm working on the lighting crews of feature films and tv shows which takes me to wildly exotic lands like... Long Island. For fun, I make my own films, sculptures, write, compose music and get into whatever physical activities i can. I'm not much for watching sports, but if you want to play, count me in. I'm not going to pretend I'm good at sports.. ok, maybe I'll pretend a LITTLE... I mean... after all, I taught Larry Byrd everything he knows about basketball:) And that guy who won the olympics before WWII... yeah, i would have beat him too, but I had a rock in my shoe. Oh and that guy who supposedly created baseball.. He TOTALLY stole that from me. But.. Y'know.. I'll forgive them. Because I'm soooo humble.
I’m really good at
EVERYTHING!!! Didn't I just tell you that I invented sports? Oh and that idea of 'letting there be light'... I don't want to take the entire credit for it, but I was like "Dude... It's kinda dark... don't you really think.. I mean.... "
The first things people usually notice about me
The fact that I'm sneaking out their window with their stereo.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - I can't say for sure it's the best, but "Of Mice and Men" totally changed how I write and think of fiction. Before reading it, I was a super fan of Edgar Allen Poe with his rich descriptions of settings that dripped with passion and pain. But then I read Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men" and I saw how brilliant simplicity could be. How good characters can reach deeper into your soul than surface descriptions. I then saw rich descriptions as Hollywood Special effects. They are a great addition to an already brilliant story, but alone, they fall short and leave you feeling empty.

Movies- Of course I have to put at the top, "Solitaire" and "The Obsession" (because I made them and they are just THAT awesome) but I suppose I have to give some credit to other filmmakers. So I really like Unforgiven, Delicatessen, Eternal Sunshine on a Spotless Mind, When Harry Met Sally, It's a Wonderful Life, Aliens, Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan, Gattaca, City of God, Hoop Dreams

Music - Once again, my own music kick ass.. -ish. I'm actually relatively new to composing, so I still have a long way to go. Generally speaking, I like music that uses instruments or styles that are not traditional to that form. For example, using a violin in a rock piece, or combining rock and hillbilly music. I also like when you can feel the grit, pain and drama in the music. Cesaria Evora over Britney Spears, Bethoven over Mozart, Ween over Nickelback,
The six things I could never do without
art supplies
sex
the outdoors
More sex and art supplies
People to share quality time with
Food and water and whatnot. (or more sex and art supplies)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to make the world a better place (really).
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no such thing as typical for me. I live a life of adventure!!!!:)

By the way, you can check out my sculptures and photography at www.SpencerSnygg.com

You can see how I'm saving the world at www.SilentMonkeys.com ( a non-profit I run that makes movies, websites and other things aimed at teaching people to think for themselves and motivating them to take whatever action they see fit to help make the world a better place)

www.VoteWise.net (A project of Silent Monkeys. It's a website where you can find out where politicians REALLY stand on the issues and you can let them know what you think as well) Actually, this site is still under construction, so if you are interested in helping out, I could really use a hand. (IT, coming up with questions, testing...)

You can see some of my movie stuff at www.AlmostFreeProductions.com

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am secretly an alien from outerspace. I've come to suck your brains out through one of those twisty twizzlie straws, but I can't find my favorite. But as soon as I do.. as soooon as i dooooo... MwaHaHaHahaHaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! (we tried this plot before, but were confounded by "hat Day" at the stadium)
You should message me if
You want friendship, romance, want to help me save the world, or have some cool band/music or anything else you want to tell me about. I work long hours for six months out of the year in Brooklyn, and then live the life of a starving artist trying to save the world from Allentown, PA for six months. Wash, rinse, repeat. Working on my art and on saving the world are far more important to me than fancy dining, so I earn just enough to survive for the rest of the year and then go off and do the things I enjoy.

UPDATE: I like a girl who is now volunteering in Central America and will probably come back at the end of May unless she finds a super awesome job down there. So, I'm a bit iffy about seeking a long term relationship. It's not out of the question, but it's not what I'm looking for. But even if she comes back, you should know that she has a condition that makes sex physically painful for her. To make adjustments for this, we have had an open relationship (her suggestion). I really like her, so I don't want to lose her, but I am also not open to the idea of never having sex again. And it would also be great to have friends, sexual or not, to joke around with, go surfing, with, talk art, etc.. I would be particularly interested in meeting more filmmakers, sculptors, or people interested in helping to save the world in one way or another.

Here are some search words for people to find me who share similar interests : filmmaking, filmmaker, sculpture, sculpt, sculptor, painter, paint, compose, composer, band, surfing, surf, windsurf, camping, camp, hiking, hike, outdoors, biking, art, artist, science, scientist, physics, engineer, engineering, biology, biologist, cetacean, oceanographic, aquatic, politics, snowboard, climbing, climb, and just for shits and giggles, rhombus.
