You won't find me at the bar very often. It's not that I have anything against alcohol, I just hate crowds and loud places. I do like to play pool and darts.
I consider myself an Atheist, but I'm not in-your-face about it. I am however, interested in Buddhism.
I don't get out much. I spend most of my time reading, watching Tv Seasons on DVD or goofing off on slashdot.
I am oxymoronic, nervous, and Geek
I've re-enrolled at Texas Tech. I'm going to get a B.S. Degree in Computer Science. I'm extremely psyched about it, but it's probably going to drain my nearly all of my free time away.
Right now, I'm working for the local newspaper in the Online department. I do the overnight update on Thursdays and Fridays, which basically means I'm responsible for putting the paper on the web on those days. The other three days I basically do everyday site maintenance and put out fires where needed(Metaphorically speaking, of course). I also maintain a blog called Open Sources for the newspaper where I talk about Free Software, Open Standards, and advocate the abolition of Copyright and patent laws.
I no longer write Open Sources, although the archives are still online at http://blogs.lubbockonline.com/mack/index.php.
However, I'm about to start a new blog about going back to school as a non-traditional student. It's probably going to be called "Back to School"
I like my coworkers, and the job's pretty cool, but I don't really know what to do with myself these day.I'm about to go back to school, which is teh hawesome!
After that, it's usually my vocabulary. I've been told I'm fond of five dollar words, and I suppose i do have an affinity for moderately obscure turns of phrase. If I can use one word instead of three or four to say precisely what I mean, then it just seems like a waste not to.
I'm also fond of Comic books, especially Spider-Man, Transmetropolitan, Preacher, and Sandman, although I've never really been much of a collector.
My favorite Movie is The Princess Bride, closely followed by Grease. I'm a big fan of Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and romantic comedy. I also enjoy Jackie Chan movies. The old ones from China more than his American fare.
I listen primarily to country music, but these days I don't buy anything from an RIAA label. I can't in good conscience support an industry that thinks it's a good idea to sue their customers. The last cd I bought was Little by Little, by Harvey Danger. They self produced the album and offered it for free download on their website. I listened to it and liked it so well that I bought a copy.
I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food. I'm particularly partial to Chicken Parmigian, and my grandma's meatloaf is to die for.
