My self-summary
I like to go on wild adventurers. Sometimes that means climbing mountains, others it's going to the weird part of Wikipedia.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working on my PhD in engineering and I'm eagerly anticipating telling people I'm "not that kind of doctor". Eventually I want to become a mad scientist coming up with outlandish schemes to take over the world. Failing that, I'd settle for coming up with reasonable schemes for managing rivers.

When I'm not working I like to get outside: hiking, camping, and climbing in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.
I’m really good at
Board games, in fact I've recently started designing them. I'm also a pretty good baker and a better cook.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm really, really, ridiculously good looking.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I tend to drift back on forth between reading fiction and non-fiction on a semi-regular basis. Standout favourites include The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Kafka on the Shore, and Thinking, Fast and Slow.

My favourite movie of all time is Jurassic Park. In hindsight I should have never seen that movie when it came out (I was four!) but I did and I loved it.

The last album I bought was by Kendrick Lamar and the last concert I went to was Hey Rosetta. I like plenty of stuff in between too.

I don't have a favourite food; it's all gravy
The six things I could never do without
Skype. I have friends and family all over and it makes it easy to keep in touch.

Headphones. Sometimes I just need to rock out.

A well stocked kitchen. In fact, I think I may be addicted to kitchen gadgets.

Laser eye surgery. Partly because it fixed all my vision problems, partly because reshaping a cornea with a laser is really cool.

Funny pictures of cats. They're why Al Gore invented the internet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Recently I was given a very well decorated piece of cheesecake and, while I was starving and it promised to be delicious, I also wanted to admire it. Then I realized where that saying comes from.

It's an experience that stuck with me.
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't know if I have a typical Friday but my favourite Friday nights are spent setting up camp for a weekend adventure. More frequently I'm camping out in my living room with pirated HBO and a bowl of popcorn.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't snap my fingers. I've spent hours trying but no matter what I do there's just no sound.
You should message me if
You're willing to play test a board game. Or if you have a climbing rope and need a belay partner.
