My self-summary
Existential uncertainties aside, I'm a web writer who has a Bachelor of the Arts in English and Hispanic literature. As you may have deduced from the title, I'm completely bilingual. I speak, read, and write English and Spanish at a near native level (demostraciones en español seguirán en un par de oraciones).

I'm also addicted to stories in any medium, at first it was a coping mechanism during my awkward adolescence, but now I'm convinced that it's one of my great joys in life. Or maybe I've gone all Quijote here and I'm convinced I'm living in a world of fiction. However, given my library I'd expect it to have more libraries of Babel and terraforming projects. So I'm probably safe.

I am also a very proud nerd. As much as I'd like to supposedly showcase my credentials, this is hardly the time or the space. But I'd love to confide them in person.

However, I love to share my passions with my friends. I'd particularly would enjoy sharing my wishes, fiction, and goals with someone who shares similar beliefs. Not identical, that is slightly creepy.

Dado que vivo en Toronto, es necesario que la mayoría de este texto sea en inglés. Quiero ofrecer un poco más que una demostración, te ofrezco una recomendación excelente: si puedes, lee a Javier Marías, es uno de nosotros.
What I’m doing with my life
My current objectives are to continue to strive to be a decent human being, read and absorb as much fiction as possible, to constantly improve myself (no cybernetics), and have fun.

Would also like to write a work of fiction I could proudly share beyond my immediate circle of friends.

It should be pretty obvious, I'd also like create a connection with someone who shares similar dreams.
I’m really good at
Language, specifically the written word in English and Spanish.

If you need any recommendation on fiction, regardless of genre, I'm your man.

Translations are always fun, even if they are criminal records, marriage certificates, or instructions on how to teach people to push buttons.

I'm also rigorous bibliophile and I keep an extensive archive of what I've read and written.

I've also placed a considerable amount of time in developing other uses for tongues (este chiste suena mejor en español).
The first things people usually notice about me
Sweet zombie jesus that man is so handsome!

That would be entertaining reaction, in reality people tend to notice that I'm very nice, well read, awkwardly funny, and honest.

They also notice (and are occasionally surprised) that I do not speak with a blatantly hispanic accent. Although damn th's like dartmouuth still vex me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything by Borges or Cortázar. Particularly enjoy 20th century detective fiction. Currently on a wave of scifi. George Eliot, she's simply amazing.

Film: I'm a Coen brothers fanboy. L.A. Confidential and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy are my favourites at this moment in time.

Shows: Archer, Venture Bros., Community, Futurama, The Wire, The Shield. Dexter's lab and the Pink Panther hold a special place in my heart.

Music: Currently X. You can seduce the pants off me with some Stones or Café Tacvba.

Food: I'll try anything once. But sushi, butter chicken, and dumplings reign supreme in my belly.
Six things I could never do without
- Prose fiction.
- My immediate friends.
- The internets, its absence would severely hinder how I satiate my curiosity.
- Ataulfo Mangoes
- Opposable thumbs. Am I right?
- My comfortable bed.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Books I'm reading, books I will read, how do certain narrative structures survive scrutiny, how plausible can dystopias be.

I specially enjoy discovering how other people have crystallized some notions I might have into amazing quotes. Current example:

Sarah Beall: “This whole idea of being good in bed is like being an acrobat or having a ten inch dick,” Beall said. “But being good in bed is really about paying attention to your partner and knowing what they like, and being comfortable in your own skin and being comfortable with them and their body.”

Found at:
On a typical Friday night I am
Exploring any possible subject (taking them to amusingly hilarious streams of thought) with my friends over dinner and the occasional drink.

Providing insightful analysis on terrible movies with my friends.

Discovering new places to eat and movies to see with the people I care about.

Or experimenting with new cooking recipes.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My one guilty pleasure in life is any movie made by the Rock.
You should message me if
You have any books, movies, or tv shows to share or recommend. Then you would definitely have my undivided attention.

Or if you're like to chat or hang out.
