My self-summary
In truth, nobody knows who they are, ever. When one must write about themselves, they write who they are ideally, rather than actually. That being said, here is an attempt at filtering out the ideal, and leaving in the truth:

I consider myself a neovictorian, enjoying the garb and mannerisms of the nineteenth century. I am also a Musician and Poet and live my life by the pen and the amplifier. I am a proud, if not somewhat pompous and vain, man who believes that Ethics and Morality should not be something that is limited to politics or religion. I find purpose in being in love, or in a relationship, and I do everything that I do as a gentleman. I value the arts, in all of their forms, as they are the sustenance of culture and freedom. Without culture, mankind is worthless, and I believe that art should be preserved.

I am also a dedicated gamer, stuck with Nintendo out of tradition, but with little true bias towards any one console. Some of my favorite games include Metroid prime, Red Dead:Redemption, the Assassin's Creed series, the Zelda series, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, Classic-style Mario games, and bunch of others. I should mention my affinity for PC gaming--not technically a console--because of the mod communities that make great games so much better. The only reason I play Skyrim is because I can kill a dragon with a musket.

My humor ranges from the dark and cynical, to the sexual, to puns and highbrow.

I am a Metalhead, a secular humanist, an Atheist, an Aestheticist, a romanitic(ist), a liberal, a Feminist, and an infinite number of other things. I tend not to go by any social label, but I figure it helps some people get a general idea about me.

I also figure it would help if I put a list of likes and dislikes, which may be updated in the future

Heavy Metal
Old-school warfare
Swords (Particularly Rapiers), knives, daggers, other melee weapons, as well as old guns.
Edgar Allen Poe
general Science fiction sometimes
Vampires (classic, like Dracula or Carmilla)
Liv performances by bands I fancy (Rush, you're next.)
Psychology, Sociology, and Cultural Anthropology
People who try to be beautiful on the outside WHILST being beautiful on the inside
The sound of Rain hitting the roof or window, accented by the low growl of distant thunder.
Warhammer 40,000
Stereotype and racial humor

People who type Like ThIs, or fail to spell out words in favor of internet shorthand (Which really bothers me), or when they write in 1337
Pop/rap/Hiphop (With a passion. I find the existence of Justin Bieber as anything musical to be an insult to art and culture.)
Nu Metal
Post WWII warfare (The age of the Coward)
Human beings in general (though quite honestly, not in the individual)
Religious extremism
Modern Vampires, Twilight being the go-to example.
Zombies. These days, zombies saturate the market and media, and it isn't difficult to find zombie parodies of just about anything.
People who try to be beautiful on the outside INSTEAD of being beautiful on the inside
WW2 and modern warfare Shooters (Because at this point, they're all the same, and I honestly can't even tell the difference anymore between the battlefield series and call of duty and Medal of Honor. Where the hell are the Civil War shooters?)
Stereotypes, honest racism, and people who play out their stereotypes.
What I’m doing with my life
I was first seeking an English major, though I have switched to Music. Whatever I can get with music, I'd probably enjoy, though if I could profit enough off of my own music, that would be ideal. I've been writing and recording Symphonic Doom Metal for quite some time, but I don't know if I could have picked a more difficult market in Metal music. It's also always inspired by history in some way, almost exclusively by the Victorian age and gothic literature, including pieces about the Industrial Revolution, Wild West, and Edgar Allen Poe.
I’m really good at
People say I have a gift with poetry and music. I do not have enough experience on the guitar to be considered good, although many musicians around me have said that I learn quickly.

I'm also, apparently, very good with dogs, so long as they aren't those tiny, yapping little wretches with a Napoleonic complex.

I've also come to notice that I can headbang longer and harder than anyone else I know. I am dedicated to my metal
The first things people usually notice about me
People tend to notice my eyes when my hair is tied back, and my hair when it is loose. Oh the number of men that have hit on me from behind under the misconception that this long haired hottie was, in fact, a man. I was flattered
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books eh? Without doubt, a full collection of Edgar Allen Poe's works. I'm also a fan of Lovecraft, Lord of the Rings, and anything written in the nineteenth century, for it is in that age that the English language was at her prime. I'm a fan of Byron, the Shelleys, the Brownings, John Milton's "Paradise Lost", Faulkner's earlier works, Robert Frost, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and against all odds, Sylvia Plath. I also have a respect for Allen Ginsberg, although I do not enjoy his work.

Favorite movies is a difficult one. I have a lot of favorite movies for many reasons. I tend to like classic movies like "Back to the Future" and "Ghostbusters" and such. I also have found myself fond of Epics that tend to be written in trilogies. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. I think, though, that some of my favorites may be Edward Scissor Hands, The Addams family, and a few others along those same lines, and my favorite movie may be Gangs of New York, although that may be partially attributed to the beautiful skyscape graced by so many wonderful Top Hats. As it happens, Daniel Day-Lewis is my favorite actor.

I don't really watch TV all that often, but there are some shows that I fancy. Family Guy, American Dad, Futurama, Southpark, Aqua Teen, Ugly Americans, Adventure Time and Regular Show are some of the Cartoons I watch, and although I rarely change the channel from Cartoon Network, I've found myself enjoying a few other shows. I enjoy 1000 ways to die, Deadliest Warrior, and have been gripped by the wonderful Game of Thrones and Hell on Wheels. I know that Breaking Bad is amazing, but I haven't seen more than the first three episodes.

As for music, I live and breathe Heavy Metal. My favorite band, and I get a lot of Flak for this, is Cradle of Filth. Aside from Metal, I also love "classical" music, particularly Baroque and Romantic. I admire characters like Chopin, Beethoven, Liszt, Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, and many others. And that is still not all of the music I listen to. There are a few bands from random genre's and musical families that I like. Johnny Hollow, Sisters of Mercy, Johnny Cash, Flogging Molly, Jill Tracy--the list goes on. The only things I really don't like are pop, modern rock, country music (Excluding Mr. Cash of course, if you consider him such a thing) most electronic music and any member of the Rap and hip hop family.
Some of my favorite Metal bands include Mirrorthone, Opeth, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Septic Flesh, My Dying Bride, Amon Amarth, Lamb of God, Triptykon, Testament, Anthrax, Nevermore, Kalmah, Mourning Beloveth, and countless more.

Food is a tricky one for me, because I am one hell of a picky eater, but I love the SHIT out of Mexican food. Italian is also pretty good, and quite a bit of Brazilian cuisine. Perhaps the latter can be attributed to my heritage as a native-born Brazilian. What I really don't like is seafood and Asian cuisine.
Six things I could never do without
The English Language.
A sense of Pride
My long hair.
a sense of purpose.
and my own identity. That is the most important thing to me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A lot of things. Anywhere from Quotes by random famous people (God bless you Oscar Wilde) to Metroid
On a typical Friday night I am
Bored out of my skull. Actually, I'm usually hanging out with friends or something along those lines. It varies from Friday to Friday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm pretty open. I actually wouldn't know what it is. Ask me anything.
You should message me if
Message me if you want to get to know me a little better, think I'm actually not a total bore, or want to talk about Metal. If you just message me "Hi how are you?" You'll probably get an "I'm fine, and you?" Ball is back in your court. Don't worry, I don't bite.
