My self-summary
I am extremely passionate, ambitious, outspoken and independent, but unfortunately lacking in the organization and discipline depts.. (I can't follow directions, never kept a budget...) I am really appreciative of people who excel in these areas if they're not too judgmental of my shortcomings.
I don't follow dating rules and I don't approach meeting new people with an agenda about some role that needs to be fulfilled in my life- I don't care how different our paths are, I just want to connect with someone who wants to share in all the joy, fun, pleasure, encouragement, kindness, inspiration and creativity that makes life feel good under any circumstance...
What I’m doing with my life
I love my work and spend an inordinate amount of time thinking, reading and discussing how to do it better. I am also grateful for the regular travel it provides to break up these brutal winters.
I moved here a year and a half ago from Asheville, NC and still feel like I have barely scratched the surface of what the cities have to offer. Probably doesn't help that I habitually revisit the same handful of South Minneapolis bars and restaurants.
My children are older, so I am able to enjoy fun things that come up- shows at the Cedar, Turf Club, bowling at BLB, artsy fun at the Walker, gatherings at friends' homes.
My strategy for embracing winter this year was to get back into skating (which I hadn't really done since I was a kid in Cleveland, OH). Skating outside, on surfaces that never see a Zamboni, is humbling for sure, but fun. I'm definitely looking forward to warmer weather- riding my bike by the creek, working in my garden, camping, fishing, grilling and sipping bourbon on the porch. Sigh...
The first things people usually notice about me
I'd like to think that people notice my cat-like green eyes before they are overwhelmed by my truckdriver-esque vocabulary...
