-DS

music, books, language, conversation, npr and meeting new humans.
What I’m doing with my life
Working days as a developer and spending nights and weekends playing music and enjoying life. This usually means being outdoors and stoking imagination with live music, fiction or npr. Traveling's fun too when I have the time (next dest: Key West)
I’m really good at
love playing saxophone, learning new tunes with others and improvising

tracking anecdotal coincidences in my day to day life (including the Tim Leary story, The Library Burglary, and 56 MILLION VIEWS)
The first things people usually notice about me
Maybe that my hair's a little silly and that I make a lot of eye contact. Probably smiling based on where you caught me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Authors/poets: Shakespeare, Herman Melville, James Joyce, Robert Anton Wilson, Stephen Crane, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Aldous Huxley, Marshall McLuhan, Jonathan Swift, Buckminster Fuller, Kurt Vonnegut

Food: All the seafood

Music: Very eclectic and always growing my collection so I can't really say I have favorite favorites but if you love music or performing in any genre chances are we'll have a lot to talk about.

Not really sure I have established favorites with the others but you should turn me on to some cool movies, especially if they're documentaries
Six things I could never do without
bike,
used book stores,
saxophone,
npr,
new music (as in new to me)
the philosopher's stone,
I spend a lot of time thinking about
is this what the rise of an authoritarian society looks/sounds like?

music, good reads, absurd jokes or concepts, humanism, great poets, ethnopharmacology, the mushroom kingdom, hermeticism, the future, the healing power of faith,

becoming a better me

comparative beliefs and ways of thinking about the world.

why do people need to be so fundamentally afraid of or pissed off at one another?

the numbers 23, 56, and 333

"Where is the Tao?"
On a typical Friday night I am
Seeing some live music and/or passing the bottle with friends
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm into angels

Also, if you wrote "that I'm on this site" or something similar , chances are you are much too cool to talk to me (or anyone)
You should message me if
You're a creative person open to talking about your work or what interests you (especially if you want to jam somewhere nice outdoors).

You like meditating and/or conducting thought experiments

You're constantly buying or starting more books than you're finishing

You like asking funny or challenging hypothetical questions

You have a talent for absurdity

You want to read 'The Picture of Dorian Grey' with me this summer.
